Can this new version be bought yet? If so how much?

krikey

I'm not printing right now, however, you could ask nicely if someone would print out the plans freely available from thingiverse?
Krikey

iPeel

You could upload them to shape ways Neil, I think you get a small cut of each one they print then.

krikey

I could, although the price is inhibitive I feel.

Hi guys. I'm assembling mine v5 version and I have some questions. Are those turnigy plush controllers with stock fw good enough, or should I get 12A AfroESC's with SimonK fw already installed ? Also, what motors would you reccomend to get from hobbyking or ebay at lower price range ?

krikey

I know that this topic is now really old, but since I uploaded the k-Quad V5 to thingiverse it's still getting downloads currently exceeding 1650 so it certainly seems to be popular, despite the fact that Carbon Fibre frames are as cheap as chips.

I'm considering upgrading the frame design but wondered if anyone would still consider buying a plastic frame?

Ratty

People buy the fossil frames and they are made of plastic.  ;D

Western

I think it would be. After all you can print a few spare arms to carry with you for pennies really.
If you've got a printer and want to get into mini quads it's a good cheap way to learn. Then you could progress onto a
carbon fibre all singing jobbie.
Cheaper than a Fossil frame too. ;D
