Short test flight while adjusting p gains. Acro mode on kk2.0 is alot more manageable.

yes recording me flying the quad was more important than letting my 7yr old son go for a wee, Lol. so apologies for the poor camera work.

Hey Neil,
Did you get my order for a black & gold KK2 frame?

While you're printing it can you print me another black arm please..... While avoiding the bird table I backed into an overhanging bush in my mum's back garden flying FPV !
The arm broke across the step which is in line with the end of the motor mount, it might be better for the thickness to gently taper down as the motor mount area doesn't need to be so thick at the end? See second pic.

Took the quad out for some fun and it performed brilliantly.  Untill a full throttle rake off caused a flip into the ground. Two broken arms and a base plate.

Order coming your way soon krikey lol

Hi Andrew,

I'll adjust the design slightly to see if this helps.

So, some new tweaks to V3 (III) of the frame which will be present on all new orders from today:

* added small fillets to the corners of the legs to enhance strength.

* replaced the step on the arms with a graduation where the motor is mounted to increase strength.

* increased the gap in the KK2 top plate by 2mm x 2mm to allow users to mount their KK2s with 1mm gap all round, thus reducing chances of transmitting vibes to the KK2.

* increased size of KK2 glue on bottom for above mod.

* moved KK2 bottom plate mounting holes so that they now align with KK2 board holes.

* increased the size of the two holes for cable channeling on the KK2 plate.

* rounded corners on KK2 top plate (aethetics really to match the rounded corners of the other components).

* each piece will now be marked (Roman Numerals) with the version number.

Soon to be releasing a new Battery plate extra for the K-Quad. This will help to combat the Pendulum effect that some users experience when slinging the battery below.

The kit will consist of:

1 x Battery plate with inspection hole (to get to KK2 board when battery is removed).

4 x 12mm standoffs.

4 x 65mm M4 bolts to replace 45mm bolts.

Looks good Krikey - some slots in the battery plate for velcro straps might be a good idea?

Brod

if it was me I would widen, width ways, the bottom plate where KK sits and get rid of centre plate and use the white small plastic spacers to mount KK..

krikey

Not sure I follow Brod. The centre plate IS the KK2 plate in that diagram. Unless you mean that you simply use spacers to mount the KK2 but then this means that your ESCs go underneath the base plate. Where would your battery go?
Krikey

Brod

yeh, mount KK using something like these on bottom black plate, matching nylon screws of course :)

either mount escs under arms or on top and cover/wrap with plastic insulating tape.
batt would go on top plate then...

hmm trouble with that is more bolts, as the 4 that come with the kit also attach the arms and the legs. I don't want to add more weight to the frame if I can help it.

Be nice if somebody were to make up a table of motors and types of esc's used for reference, I will hopefully be a proud owner of one of these babies soon But i have found the whole thread a little confusing with so many of you guys using such a huge selection of parts :D

I am thinking 3s would be the way for me to go but really unsure what to purchase motor, esc, props for her, I can't throw huge sums at her so would like to purchase right first time a tried and tested selection of parts  for my build :D

anyone with a really happy to share set up please?
I will be using a frsky rx and KK2 board and 808 for the fpv cam  :)

dizzy :)
