I have used HK for quite a few orders in the past and experience has been fine. I recently ordered some lipos anti vib rubbers and XT60 connectors. One pack of XT60s were missing from package. So eventually I found where to open a ticket on the HK site..3 days later I was told that I had to file an RMU claim ..this has 5 sections the last requires pictures of what is wrong....a picture of what is not there???
Basically I feel I am being given the run around,  I really just need to speak to a real person in the UK and get replacements sent out.  I don't suppose anyone has a telephone number for HK in the UK ? Caveat Emptor!!!!

It's a good way of getting noticed, but HK will point blank refuse to assist any further until you close the Paypal case.

Just tell them, that the claim stays open, till the issue has been resolved.
You wont belive, how helpful they become then :)

I had this issue when I ordered my FPV Raptor ... a critical component was missing from the box (it was the plastic panel that the tail screws onto on the underside of the plane).

They asked me to take a picture of the issue, to which I responded with "take a picture of something I don't have?" ... This happened twice, with me repeating the question and simply getting stock answers in return.

In the end I came up with a solution involving some parts I had laying around and just let the case lapse, but I have to say I was unimpressed with the pretend support and if I'd been unable to fix it myself I'd have been a bit peeved.

The unspoken rule with HobbyKing is that if you can afford to not receive it, take a punt.. if not, try somewhere else... like you say, great when it works .. but otherwise really pants.

Did you use this technique successfully? When I raised my dispute with them I told them this repetitively three times with the same response from them which wasted more than a week. In the end I escalated the case with Paypal who refunded me, but that was for an order which HK had not yet dispatched.

Ordered fpv dom goggs from HK warehouse.   All goood but goggs conked out after a month.  The Online help took forever! !!! What a waste of your life.  Had to send em to HK warehouse for inspection so that makes my moan relevant for this thread.  With no telephone number to call them, I wrote a nice letter with my return parcel including a very friendly request to kindly make sure to telephone me on Receipt of the package and also make sure to call me to say yes they're foobared so I can promptly get replacement or exchange.   I heard sweet F A  from the grumpy swines. So, more wasting my existence, contacting them on the online help console dobrey wotsit.
So annoying!   Got refunded eventually grrrr absolutely nafff waste your life after service.

All great, birds tweeting when all goes well but want to talk to someone or return an expensive item for exchange or refund  then ALARM BELLS !!

Alls well that ends well ..eventually someone in Hobby King understood my frustration   and sent me TWO packs of XT60s!   only one had been missing.  Whiilst this was a result, the process to get there was neither straight forward or agreeable ..Myy future RC purchaes will therefore only use HK as a last resort ... IMHO Having someone on the end of a telephone is deffinitely worth a few extra %

If you had gone to the Fatshark website, and on to their Tech support.
They would of asked you to send them to the UK repair centre.

1st they would probably tell you to send them back to the retailer.
But if you say I brought these from Hong Kong etc, and it will cost me a fortune to send them back (if they don't go missing in the post,)
They will tell you to send them to the UK repair centre, or may just tell you to send them there in the first place.

--------------------

I also done a RMA with HK, I had a faulty wing cam.
Send it back via signed for delivery.

Left it one week,
And asked CS for an update.

Please could you take a picture of the item, along with the SKU and a video of the problem.
So I said I would love too, but unfortunately your going to have to take the video and pictures as the tracking shows it has been returned.

Another week later still nothing.
4th week, I get a message asking to take a picture, SKU, and a video of the problem.
This time I took screenshots of the RMA on their system, stating it had been returned and was being evaluated.

So you can imagine my reply to that one.
Couple of days later I logged into my account to find a credit refund. (if you ask for a paypal refund it could take another 30 days to appear in paypal.)

But my latest episode,
I ordered a bixler landing gear set.
Parcel arrived (did wonder why the box was small for a landing gear set.)
Opened the box to find a 4S nano, and a couple of smaller lipos.

So I can now, ask them to fill out an RMA, cover the postage costs, send me a picture of what is missing, a picture of what they send me.
And a video of them, before I return them.

Oh and then take 6 months about it.

Damn wish id thought of opening dispute through paypal. I got a broke 700tvl sony cam and I sent pics showing the wrongly solderd component and the reply I got was "cant you solder it yourself?
I just couldnt be botherd with the hassle of sending back..
I then had a lens missing from an order and they wanted me to weigh the box with everything in it, this after I had thrown all packaging away. So just didnt bother. But will definatly keep this in mind for the future.

My hobbyking rule is :

If I ain't happy to either not receive it or I have to just bin it cos it's junk I don't buy it from hobbyking (china or uk!!)

I'm waiting on stock to come into the UK warehouse at the moment. Some bits on my order changed from 'in transit' to 'in stock' but another item is still in transit. EU and global have it in stock. So annoying!!!

Yes PayPal is definitely the way to go with HK. In fact it works well with E Bay so called Business Sellers that refuse to accept the Sale of Goods act.
