Just saw there's been a minor update to the FY41AP OSD firmware in the last few days.....

Thanks, I'll do it tomorrow.  Wonder if it is the imperial measurements.

Did the upgrade, should'nt have bothered cos now the video side doesnt work at all.  No video, blank screen. Tried earlier versions of the osd , nothing.  What a load of poo this is.

I'm not a big fan of updates.  If you bought a unit and it works as you like it ... don't tweak!

I wait a long time and read the forum posts of others as to what is going on - for example, my Naza V1 is still in the stone age.  Firmware is 2-3 yrs old but it works a charm.

My 41AP is  "as is" ..... never upgraded it.. it works....

Yes I know what you mean, the latest Windows network security update is giving me grief as well.  However, a couple of guys over on RCGroups have commented that the upgrade worked for them.  Trouble is I don't have anyone near me that uses FY41 to check anything out. I have done it 5 times now, each time making absolutely sure that I am doing it right, still no joy. I am so bloody cross  Actually what I have found out is that the voltage out to the camera is 12.8 volts.  Could be the reason for my on screen diagonal lines.  Looks like it's a return to factory job, which is even more infuriating as my missus flew out there on business yesterday  .  BTW I am thinking of starting a buyer beware thread with regard to EBay shops that seem to think that the Sale of Goods act doesn't apply to them.  Sort of a name and shame exercise.

Hi BigT

Sorry to hear you've had probs with that upgrade, I must admit I haven't tried it yet but will when I get time to get the FY41AP out of the plane and plugged in.  I've not had any probs with any of the updates I've installed before, just had to make sure I'd applied the correct update to the correct uart port .
I know lots of people like to stay with the original firmware and I do agree in some ways with the idea that "if it aint broke, don't fix it" but when I look back at just the autopilot firmware upgrades on the FY41 and also the fy31 before it, there have been some really valuable updates and some that are probably essential to have the unit operate at max safety.  For anyone interested in what the upgraded firmwares have offered I've attached Feiyutech PDf file outlining all the changes they've made since the first firmware update .... some minor and some I wouldn't want to be without.
If I can help in any way let me know.    Also now I've managed to get my Zephyr 2 succesfully in the air I'm realising the interference probs I'm having on the osd sound similar to yours....  scrolling diagonal bands speeding up then reversing direction and slowing down. grrrr,   anyway that's for the next post  :D

Omg at last. I have had a battle royal with the immersion no help forum over these stripes. The eBay shop finally agreed to "look"  at the tx but only after I promised to go to small claims. I have ordered a PC capture device so I can post a video. I don't think it's the osd as I have taken the camera and tx out and wired it up on the bench and it still does it. Unless once it's connected to the 41 it is damaged some how. I checked the video out voltage from the 41 and it is 12.8 volts. The best result I have had is to put a seperate  battery on the tx it fades the stripes. I now need a new autopilot whilst this one goes back to china. So do I stick with fy41 for commonality or go for a cyclops which does not have auto circle or a ruby?

my best advice is to start an eBay complaint ASAP. Then brush up on the sale of goods act 1979 (as revised) quote it to the seller and offer to go to small claims if they don't honour the guarantee. Don't accept the fob off of "send it to the manufacturer" that's the retailers responsibility unless you take out a special agreement with the manufacturer. Of course many eBay shops run 2 parallel accounts and magically become private sellers when you complain. Some but few are honourable. I will now only buy big ticket items from the retail outlets listed on the manufacturers web site.  For example feiyu tech and fatshark list first person view uk. I am prepared to pay a few % more for good cover. I would never buy big ticket items from hobby king china but might from hkuk. Having said all that I had great service from bevrc and bang good and good luck buy on small stuff. Currently I am in dispute with a uk eBay shop who is trying to claim they are not a shop but a reseller.  Another eBay shop tried to refuse to accept they had no responsibility outside 3 months until I did as above. Now they have agreed to send the faulty vtx for repair. Buyer beware indeed. I totalled up my fpv spend and it is a shocking amount of money to spend with cowboys.

Flew the firmware updates today.  The OSD seems clearer, more solid than before other than that nothing much.  The FY41 firmware is another matter though.  On my previous version rudder and aileron where seperate, on this version they are linked which I HATE.  The reason is that depending on the model you need various inputs to keep level in turns.  The Skywalker1900 for example has a tendency to drop its nose in the turn when too much rudder is used. Plus I use rudder to counteract side slip in a crosswind.  As yet I cannot find out how to decouple it.  I know it used to be coupled in  autolevel but now it is in everything.  Another new thing over the previous version is the cruising speed and autocircle settings are super critical.  If the circle radius is too big or small compared to the cruise speed then then the model dives or climbs to speed up or slow down.  I switched into circle at 100 feet and it powered on into a shallow circle dive which I only just got out off! Next, when I switch RTL over 100 meters the model immediately puts in down elevator to descend to 100 meters to rtl home.  Fine as long as you are not on a hill or in a valley!  Think I will go back to the previous firmware
