I'm quite shocked at the $380 inc shipping (TBC) price tag for the all in PNP option, that would sway me to the Finwing Titan fot the extra $19!

However if you're into something more affordable with regards to Lipos and transportability (2m w/s) it might be for you?

I've liked these for a while since he started doing the demo videos - they fly really nicely. I especially like the GoPro placement in its waterproof case (I guess the video will need to be flipped though, heh).

At that price I will stick with a Skywalker with undercarriage - does the same job. To be competitive the basic airframe needs to be about $100-120 plus shipping. The Skywalker V6 is $90 from the HobbyKing UK warehouse (if they had any stock).

For typical duration flying,  the Skywalker goes above and beyond expectation.

That`s kind of the point Rob, they are intended for beyond typical flight duration flying

So the 2013 Skywalker is what $120 and still needs some work on the wings and tail to strengthen them. I'm willing to pay a premium for an airframe that fixes those things out of the box. The tail section seems really nice in the video and there its a shed load of space in the front. I just wonder what CG will be like with a GoPro gimbal and lots of batteries.

If this is going for $200 ish airframe only, I would deffo consider it seriously though I'm keen to see the first boxes hit and see what the quality of the airframe is like.

These days my time is pretty tight so if I can save some time by spending money it's an easy decision to make.

the skywalker does not "need" work on the wings, people just choose to do so (me included btw). I didn't think it was neccesary but did it for my own piece of mind... I'm willing to bet that the same people would do the same with the Ranger EX wings, again, me included.

it is a very nice looking plane, I would love to have one... but it's not different or new enough to warrant the extra $$$ for me.

It doesn't appear to have the SW tipstall issue at low speeds which has to count for something.

Plus it looks nicer IMO :D

Edit: also worth mentioning that the $380 is the ARTF version... a kit will be cheaper.

That depends with wing version. There have been at least 6-7 different wing moulds if not more.

My V6 with the 1900 wings was terrible out of the box with a lot of flex. Considering I've got 10a 4S and a 700w power system from a Z2, the wing work was definitely needed.

I recon they must be aiming this as a premium skywalker, it looks so similar. $200 barebones kit would be reasonable I think if the quality is good. IF.

you're right... I guess it all depends on what the payload is and what type of flying you wish to do.

if you only want to carry more than a small/medium LiPo payload and fly semi-aerobatically then I agree it would be wise to modify the wings, but the mods are extremely cheap and easy... not sure I'd spend over double the price for the sake of "not having to mod the wings"

I was lucky with my 2nd Skywalker (bought from hobbyking UK) the wings were spot on.
