Futaba T12FG - program rotary knob for variable rate ??

Hi all,

Is it possible to program one of the transmitter rotary knobs to give me a variable rate setting for rudder, ailerons and elevator ?
i.e. knob fully turned one way = 100% rate; knob turned down = reducing rate.

I assume I would need to first create a mix between the controls and then associate the knob ??

Please provide 'idiot proof' instructions.

for planes you should be using Dual Rates for this

or use -30% expo and not move the sticks as far   ;D ;D

I recently saw a video - Nitroplanes I think - of a RTF tx that had a variable rate 'knob' which I thought was a clever idea as it would mean you could dial in a rate to sort differing conditions - wind, no wind etc.

You could do it with sa Taranis but not a Futaba.

The other thing to bear in mind is one rate ( say ailerons ) won't scale the same as the other ( rudder ) so dialling down one may make that just right, but the other is now too low or too higher reacting.

thats why the 12FG has conditions and dual rates across different conditions

example:

Take off Condition
General Flight / Aerobatic Condition
3D Flight Condition
Landing condition

Each Condition then has its own Expo and Own Dual Rates

Wind actually makes little difference for adjusting rates if it flys well in 5mph winds 10mph winds won't hurt it or make a big difference.

I know some ex-FAI Pilots and they just use dual rates and conditions and sometimes neither.

A 9cap wouldn't do it

yea 12FG would do it, 2 dials and all that  ;)
