The Amazon link states :
"Compatible with D4FR/D6FR/D8R.D8R-II receivers in 2 way telemetry Mode."

The T9 Hobbysport link states :
"The V8 receivers are NON-telemetry receivers but still work with ALL the current FrSky modules AND also the TARANIS Transmitter"

There's your answer, right under your nose.  ;D

If you want an Frsky telemetry compatible receiver for the telemetry module you have ordered you will have to use one from their D8 range as the Amazon link states. Here they are, on the T9 Hobbysport website.

Thanks.  I was getting confused with all the different numbers and letters   ;D

If I was to go for one of the two way telemetry receivers such as the D4R-II, would I be able to set up a customisable low voltage alarm for the flight pack on my quad?  If not, there's not much point me getting one with telemetry and I could save a couple of grams and just get the V8R4-II

Yes, BUT, you will need more 'bits' than just the module and tx.

Thanks Chris,

I've decided to just keep it light and simple and ordered the V8R4-II  Apparently it's a solid little receiver with better than expected range and performs well.  I'll stick to using a timer for my flights.

Sorry for another question...  I just wanted to find out if I can connect this V8R4-II receiver to my Naze32 Acro using a single cable.  I know you can with the D4R receiver.  Anything to save weight   :D

*edit - sorry, I mis-read your post, and thought you were asking if you could do it with d4r-ii*  :+

yes you can! This is how I have mine setup.....
Use the jumper that came with the rx, and connect pins 3 and 4 together - rebind......
In baseflight, using the CLI tab, type in feature PPM (enter)
Then, use a male to male cable from channel 1 on your rx to the first 3 pins (starting from top left) of the 10 pins on the side of the naze (ground is the 1st pin, positive the 2nd pin and signal the 3rd)

Hope that makes sense......  :)

.....also, the d4r can be configured to send a lot of the data from the naze 32 to your TX.......

I am using a taranis, and the naze sends the following via telemetry on the d4r ii:

Pack voltage
Barometric height
GPS co-ordinates

Thanks for the info AT.  So the V8R4 isn't capable of this?  I was interested in getting pack voltage and an alarm set up somehow but I'm just going to be using my old Futaba T6R with an Frsky telemetry enabled hack module.
