Got to be carefull with Initial letters. As a young "Tiffs", if you don't know don't ask, we had an expression ROMFT. Some young ladies thought it ment "Romantic Offering For Totty" however this was far from the truth. I think we can spare our readers a full list of all the initials we wrote on the back of envelopes when long distance communications were by snail mail.

Thanks for the idea of Y cable from aileron to the rudder. Am i right in thinking the rudder should turn the same direction as your turn?
also should i limit the rudder movement on the linkages so that it only gives mild movement?

However!!!! linking the Rudder to the ailerons will mean that my FY20a will no longer be keeping the plane on a straight path so thats going to mess things up a bit?


having the Rudder controlled by a servo tester set to mid position into the FY20a seems to help the turns anyway as it constantly tries to level you out even in the turns, it seems to stop you loosing height into the turns

thoughts anyone please?

To get co-ordinated turns you want the ailerons to act against the rudder, this keeps the plane level instead of banked.

If your FY20a connects to your ailerons and elevator then thats fine, it will still turn as commanded but remain more level

Thanks for that Coyote, one last question   C of G  really 30mm back from the servo slot? is that correct?  mine is about 10mm back.

is the amased wisdom 30 mm back for this model thats alot different from the instructions

As it turns out it has a much better glide ratio at 30mm back, requires a lot less control throws and doesnt pitch on throttle up

If you want flat turns then use the FY20A to keep the wings level and just use rudder the steer the plane. On the Skywalker the rudder is so powerful this works well. No need for coupling and it reduces the number of channels needed. This is good for photography but lousy for aerobatics.

Ahh electric mick, so your sugesting move the rudder to the right stick and let the Fy20a manage the aileron that might be an idea!  I just came back from my first fpv flights with goggles, spotter and son all in tow, fist flight was ok but managed to lose control close to a house on the edge of the green and ran into a small tree,  No damage but i suspect the wifi from this house may have caused this

I was using the spektrum, my ground station was a good 200m from this house and i was picking up a wifi network on the laptop that was recording the flight.
next time i shall stay well away frm that part of the green.

net result 2 flights about 8 mins each was amazed at how high i got, it did not look much through the gogs, need to listen to the spotter a bit more as he was having 40 fits that i was so far away, light was fading but clarity was very good.

When i turned the FY20a on it had a tendancy to make the plane nose down a little, i could trim this out but think i need to mod the position a little. lift one end or the other

Will try to edit some footage together, I was flying at pinknies green, just outside of Maidenhead and could just about make out the tall bits of Slough, and over the ridge to bits of Marlow.
returned with plane intact so all in all a good start.

Will have a tinker with Elevator and rudder control only until im comfy then the Eagletree kit needs to go in, plus a mic. all of which are in a box in the workshop
