Well the Skywalker arrived 3 weeks ago

some progress has been made
I how have Itheater 640 by 480 goggles

the skywalker is built and test flown with FY20a onboard. extra carbon in the boom plus chriss cross fibre tape and the dx6i remote unit in the tail, cables installed to mount the GPS on the tail also
Have upgraded to a 1.2ghz VTX and VRX so i can use my spectrum dx6i
I have built a nice pan tilt with a stretcher on pan and slower on tilt

I plan to let the FY20a manage the rudder and use the left stick for pan (im going to use a servo tester to keep the neutral position input to the FY20a )
Im using the Gyro switch to switch the FY20a in or out
I currently have the tilt on the gear switch

However as the wind has been so strong not managed to get all my ducks lined up to test the FPV yet which is a bit of a frustration

Eagle tree elogger OSD pro and Gyro on the way

Which leaves me a bit short on switches to run the osd system

Im considering using another servo tester to have the Fy20a on full time so releasing a switch so i can set up the OSD system

can anyone let me know if im on the right track please?

Yeah the servo tester trick works fine if you want to do it that way ( saves you a channel ) on the function switches.

Ive never thought about using one for the rudder, good idea, in principle it should work

Thanks for the comments, its quite hard to cobble the whole thing together with just reading posts.
great to get some feedback on the ideas

I will get some photos of the build together and post

just need the wind to ease to get some more air time on the SW and so a chance to get the goggles on

Hi Indolohouse,
Me to new, not a poet it just slipped out. What gear are you flying on? I am on Futaba FF 9, an old one and an 8 channel RX. It gives me a lot of switches and spare analogue channels. I manage with a little help from the "mixers" to do all that necesary with the FY-21 AP plus PP 117OSD. If I can any one can. I have not as yet fitted Pan & Tilt and when I do I will have to re think the control of the whole lot but thats what I like about life as soon as you think you have it sussed then a little extra requirement changes even the basics, who would have it any other way.

hi John, I have a dx6i  and on 35meg Futaba 6 ch and a Jr 6 channel so all the systems i have are only 6 way so im sort of having to be creative as i cant stretch to a few hundred quid for new radio gear

Also now got hold of a 600TVL camera so hopefully the images should be moderatly good

just trying to fathom out how to build some landing gear for the Skywalker with the fact im not using the rudder  so tail steer is out

I may use a Y cable off the pan and have the gear on the nose work in sync

just building the gear to be not to heavy is a job in itself let alon how to fix it to a curvef EPO plane

You can put the rudder onto a y splitter off your ailerons and set it to give you co-ordinated turns

Only joking mate your doing a great job for all of us but as some one once said be very careful what you put your name to in the public domain it WILL come back to haunt you eventual. Not a lesson that I ever learnt I have to admit.

Not being an habitual Forum user until recently I have a couple of questions, actualy I probobly have a couple of hundred  :-\ but two will do for now.
What goes "lol" mean or signify after a message or statement ? If its rude don,t answer and of course don,t use.
Why don,t we get a bit more humour and banter on the Forums.

Any of those means its normally to be taken in jest
