Broken Taranis Antenna

So I've broken the plastic joint on the antenna to the point it flops about loose. Is there anyway of just replacing the outer plastic holder rather than having to solder on a whole new antenna?

Some 2.4GHz Tx antennas simply consist of the actual antenna wire dry fitted inside the black plastic outer. Check to see if this is the case and perhaps the only work you will have to do is replace the plastic bits. Resoldering a tiny coax cable onto the RF stage of the Tx is going to be quite fiddly. It used to be so easy with 27/35MHz and proper man-sized bits.  ;D

Yeah I really don't want to have to attempt to resolder the wire, I think that would be a recipe for disaster. I can't see any way of getting the wire out though

Ive done something similar before. The bulk of the antenna cover can be prised off the base and then with some careful cutting you can make a slot or split the base and remove the antenna. Of course you will need to replace the base part by splitting/gluing it or by making a slot in it, but it will do the job.

As the cable seems to be unharmed I'm tempted to patch it together with fibre tape to hold it in position. I'm also tempted to make the missus pay for a complete new radio as it was her tantrum in the first place that broke it!!
