Does anyone know where I can get an S125 1T servo in the UK? It's for my FPV camera pan.

I got my last one from servoshop, but they're on backorder there at the moment. Thanks.

My normal suppliers of the genuine ones are all saying its discontinued :(

Shame :(, thanks for letting me know.

Are there any alternatives?

Not that I am aware of, but if I find one I`ll update you

They will be the copies that burn out after a few minutes. I ended up with loads of them trying to find the originals. Only Polulu did them and now they don't :(

There seem to still be a selection of sail winch servos available, from Hitec for example, or even this one

Ian - aren't any of them any good ??

I was going to suggest Hitec HS785 but its 3 turns so you would have to reduce throws on your transmitter to get 1 turn

However the Hobbyking one above looks very nice!

From what I read about the hobbyking one is the only way "program" it to be only one turn is via endpoints. So 100% is 6 turns, so presumably to get 1 turn would be 16.6% throws. That means the control resolution for your throws is going to be poor.

It will not be as good, but not necessarily poor, since modern Analg to digital converters are getting higher resolution all the time and the width of the input control pulse can also be measured more accurately

As I pointed out in another thread just recently, I actually designed and built a servo amp many years ago specifically for a sail winch. The full travel was adjustable from 1/2 to 9 1/2 turns via a pot on the pcb with effectively no change in resolution.
http://www.zoomworks.org/oldsite/Winch/BoardElectronics/uber_frame.htm (The secret was to use a DAC  to adjust the travel, with a variable resistor controlling current at the output which set the target position), so it was outside the dynamic control loop. A change in travel had no effect on ADC resolution for example)
The main issue I had was finding hardware... Perhaps its time to revive the project. I believe the original board fitted in the HiTec HS785 sail winch, maybe now would have to fit it on a smaller board, but not so difficult with more modern mcu!)

Will report how ! get on with my purchase ...given that there will be two thirds of no load on the servo and it is designed to provide lots of force ..I am optimistic

Is a digital servo a good idea for a pan mechanism? I would have thought you'd get vibrations.

The GSW 125 1T is an analogue servo not digital.

There are seven types of GWS S125 servos:

Analog : 1/2T, 1T and 2.5T

Digital : 3TD, 6TD, 12TD and 15TD
