r7008sb receiver channel 8 problems! help please?

evening folks

ok, so i've got a new rx, setup i think as 8 channels (1 flashing red blink when setting up rx mode) on my 14sg. linked no problem etc.

i'm planning on using channels 7 and 8 to control pan and tilt on a camera. using rd and ld to control the channels, 7 works no problems but 8 just stutters like it's getting interference. swapping them over does the same to the other servo so i know it's not the servos.

do i need to do something else to set it up for an 8th channel?

any help much appreciated

I have a Futaba T12FG and had a similar problem - my solution was:

By default my tx is set to only broadcast the first 7 channels (which I hadn't noticed). To activate transmission of all channels I have to:-

Look on the main Menu screen. On mine you can 'click' on; System / Linkage / Model AND FASST 7CH. Click on the FASST 7CH - Scroll down and highlight FASST 7CH - click on it and another option appears FASST MULTI - click on MULTI and exit Menu. Job done for me.

PS If you have a number of different planes saved in the tx - you have to do this whilst the plane you need the 8 channels on is selected.

no dice i'm afraid.  it's still giving grief on channel 8...

anyone else got a suggestion or is it a futaba technical advice email?

Have you tried plugging a different servo into the Ch 8 on the receiver ?

You need to set the tx to transmit to suit your rx as listed on page 75 of the manual in the system screen and re bind the tx. FASST TEST 14ch. Go to the futaba web site and download the manual for the tx/rx.

Also make sure you have the tx set for 8 channel operation not 7. The red led should blink once

tried different servo, and the same servo on a different channel.  the servo is good.

rx is in mode one and just blinking red once in setup.
tx is in 14ch fasst test as described in both tx and rx manual.

i've also tried 12 channel, no good either.

it's like channel 8 is on a digital output?  who knows.

i've swapped it with an 8 channel sfhss rx for the time being, but i'd like to be able to use this rx with 8 channels!

any other thoughts guys?  i've emailed futaba tech support but no reply as yet.

i have another 7008 rx that i might try to see if it's just this rx, but as it's brand new and i've never had problems with futaba rx's up till now, i cant see it being the problem.....

1) The r7008sb receiver can be set up to act in different 'modes' - only one mode allows for the operation of the 8 channels, this is Mode A - see Page 25 of the Manual.
Please double check your receiver is set to Mode A.

2) The transmitter -  Select [SYSTEM] at the Linkage menu and access the setup screen by touching the RTN button. Check that the tx is set to more than 7 channels. Manual page 37.

turns out it was the rx and not me, i'd set it up right and know i'm not a complete donkey.

i stripped the same rx off a different model and it worked fine as intended.  so the dodgy rx will be going back
