Me IQ of glass of water

So a quick set up video / guide would be nice if there is one

Servo hook up

This is shown in the manual, just connect to CH1 and CH2 of the vector

Done by the vector, connect it to your PC first, and you will see the 'model' setup, the wizard is really easy to use.

Extra channel hook up

for what? Currently the vector can't control any pan / tilt stuff

Yes, the vector can power the RX, just wire it in and good to go, however the servos will be best powered from a separate bec and not through the vector as on the Z2 they will pull a fair bit of current.

I'm with Keukpa here. It's very easy to set up. The manual is pretty straight forward abd the pc software is great too.

MarkLincs

Yea well

I really hate the way you have to power everything off a Bec...

But I'll conect to lappy soon enough

Once Yuri have done that you can enjoy how simple it is to set up.

MarkLincs

Yea

sounds like time to hook up to the laptop

then add a stupid BEC because the dam system won't power the servos so add a BEC add a 3s battery for receiver and servos oh Joy

keukpa

No need for a 3S battery to be added, use the BEC from the ESC to power the servos, and the Vector can power the RX no problems.

I'm not putting a separate 3S in mine.... no need!

Thought I'd ask here rather than starting a new Vector-wing thread.

Anyone give me a hand on the flight modes for fixed wing on a Vector? I'm not quite sure I understand the manual. I'm thinking I want to go for:

- Stabilization off: Just flying manually
- Gyro stabilize: Like above, but smoothes out lumps and bumps from turbulence?
- 2D Mode with hold: If I'm flying straight and level, it will keep flying straight and level without any input from me?
- Loiter: Got this
- RTH: Got this

(NB, spelling from the manual ;-) )

keukpa

Yes, you are correct in what you say, the 2DH mode is great.... flying at 400m due east... flick it into 2DH and it'll cary on at that till you change it with stick input :)

Stabalise, yes, this just removes the buffeting :)

I love the vector I does! :)

Vector is the best FC out there right now... the MFD Fanboys will be along shortly to disagree... but they're wrong so ignore them ;)

The only thing the Vector doesn't have going for it right now, is a plug n play Automatic Antenna Tracker.

What do you mean by plug'n'play?

the EagleEyes gives vector tracking and diversity.

"* Antenna Tracking - Is your video transmitter suffering from low range? When coupled with our Vector or OSD Pro OSDs, the EagleEyesTM is the heart of a full-featured pan/tilt antenna tracker. Powerful, easy to use PC software and on-screen menus are provided for adjusting the EagleEyesTM to work flawlessly with the tracker of your choice. An exclusive to Eagle Tree, multiple pan points can be calibrated, resulting in greater panning accuracy even if your pan servos are somewhat nonlinear. The built-in regulator drives even large pan/tilt servos, with no need for an external BEC. ReadyMadeRC.com and electronicarc.com produce low cost, high quality trackers built especially for EagleEyesTM."

With the Eagle eyes you need to hook it up to a diy or third party pan and tilt mechanism. I've done it and whilst it does work, it's a messy/cumbersome setup.

If Eagle tree brought out an all-in-one AAT like the MFD one, they'd make a killing

keukpa

Ah right, I get ya.

But it does have plug an play AAT, albeit lots of plugging ;)

Personally I prefer the Eagle eyes over a pre-built setup as it gives you many more options...but for out the box flying, the Skylark / MFD certainly has that one nailed!
