Well it felt chilled out if you looked at the rest of the footage.  It was a windy day, and the FX-79 had just exploded, so had 3 great (albeit cold) flights with Neil to cheers me up

Wait a minute, the FX-79 had just done what????

Exploded - maybe not in the TNT sense of the word, but it exploded into all it's constituent pieces.  Video is uploading at the moment.

Oh man, sorry. After all you put into it too. Anything salvageable?

Sods law isn't it.  Yep actually things aren't too bad - despite the wings and all the panels flying off on impact and all the inside stuff making a visit to the outside, the structural damage is fixable.

Damage report coming up in the video... although since then I discovered that the nose I thought was ok actually had become curved which wasn't the case before.  Hot water straightened it out, although it'll now need some filling/sanding to make it a bit smoother.

Feel free to add your opinion on why it crashed once uploaded - I'm not sure if it stalled or something else happened, and obviously want to sort that before we try again

Well at least there was some flying. Scratching my head, thinking maybe that area is bad for UHF...? That's where my perfectly good Penguin went right in after take off on the same Dragon Link unit. After that once rebuilt, it flew great, just not there. 3DJim also had DL issues at the same spot... just thinking?
This is not a game anymore!

Wrong thread for that discussion, 60% on the crash video.  But the DVR showed dragon link had 99% RSSI all the way in.  This is Horseshoe bottom BTW, so a little way up from Brock
