TBS Caipirinha

Started a new project today :P, the TBS Caipirinha. Day one was thinking what were to install and to make it fit. I am not sure what the setup exactly will be, but it has to work with the MFD tracker that's for sure :D Keep you posted.

Made room for the Mobius and the FY-31 today and installed the motor mount :)

Yeah I know Brucey, it is the weak spot of the Caipirinha.....do you know of a mod??? It is not glued in yet because I am thinking of reinforcing it...

How about just removing the circlip from your motor, then in the event of a hard landing the whole bell housing will come off and hopefully save the mount

It's a pretty simple motor mount, if I was determined to build another Caip I'd knock one up out of a single sheet of aluminium.

Yep I am thinking about aluminum to, go search the web first to see if there something already and otherwise I make one myself.

Reinforced the motor mount with an extra piece of depron. Going to try this first, second plan is an aluminum motor mount.

The Caipirinha is starting to look familiar, painted in the UAV Aviation colors ;D Modified the winglet attachment, not only velcro but two extra magnets. I liked the way the winglets were attached but only velcro made them very sloppy. Installed the reinforced motor mound and motor as well. Since I am trying to keep it as light as possible (and don't want to use counter weights to balance the plane) the ESC will be mounted underneath exactly in the CG.

Finished the Caipirinha tonight :-) FPV cables are all installed but the ImmersionRc 5,8Ghz AV TX and the ImmersionRc UHF long range system are not installed yet. Want to do some test flights first to fine tune the CG before installing the FPV equipment. Hopefully we have nice weather this weekend ;-)

This has motivated me to get mine in the air too. Needs a bit of gorilla glue first....
