Today, Parcel Farce delivered the LawMate 1.2 / 1.3 G Video receiver (5 day delivery from DronesVision in Taiwan 36 USD)....!!
Day before, Technic delivered the VTX.

Tested and working on 1280mhz using a 12Vdc Camera, now to figure out the wiring to use the Mobius instead, since it will need to be charged by a 5 volt BEC.
Image looks nice and solid with good natural colours.

You wont need a heatsink for it unless you're completely enclosing the VTX inside the fuselage or deep in the foam of a wing for example. As long as you have it in moving air (i.e. on a cockpit or protruding a few mm from the surface of a wing) it will work perfectly fine. Mine has done me proud for well over 2 years without a heatsink.

Yes, the case is huge...I also have a 1.3G LP filter coming and a 200mw 1.2G VTX....these are from Survielzone, prices look pretty good too....:)

I need to figure out some neat wiring so I can use my Mobius with it, it will need a 5v BEC to keep it topped up...It wont work without the ground for the Video connected, I assume ground is ground, right?

Yes totally agree. A UK flyer summer temps reach about 22 degrees max with rain in between so yes you won't need heat sinks.

European heat however means your vtx will require special attention. 😉

yes, definitely use a heatsink if you live in a hot country.

I'm going to glue on a heatsink and make it so I can screw it in place on the wing....burying it in foam does not seem a good idea, its an insulator.

By glue you mean thermal paste?

Hi Mark,

Yes, I have a Mobius cable, its the black or ground wire which is needed in order to make the video work. In this 5vdc supply for the Moby, the video ground has to pass through the 5vdc BEC. At the moment, Im using an Immersion vtx, which convieniently has a smooth 5vdc out to feed the Mobius battery. The 1.2G vtx has no 5vdc out....and the Mobius needs a 5v supply to keep it topped up. I cant use the BEC on the ESC its not man enough....It gets a bit more complex if I want to wire it to a Storm AP as well.....Could do with a wiring diagram really.:)
