After my (actual not-a-copy-a-real-one) SPRacingF3 went pop, someone suggested I try and Omnibus FC, so I ordered an F3 controller from Banggood.  As it happens, an F4 one is also on it's way - so I might hold out for that one

iwan_canobi

I got a few of those and have been setting up iNav for fixed wing, haven't flown it yet, but so far so good! The inbuilt OSD is nice, makes it a neat solution!

CurryKitten

Well, I was right not to crack on with the Omnibus F3 as I've just been to the post office to collect a package and it's the Omnibus F4.  Along with something else

The something else is another AIO unit.  This has a 20A Dshot600 compatible ESC board which connects into an F3 flight controller with an integrated VTX.  It comes with no SMA attached and a short pig tail or SMA adapter in the bag ready to solder on.  Sadly, there's no other documentation that I can find, and given it has vcc out to a camera and things, I could really do with understanding what all the pinouts/uarts etc are and do !  I've just pinged the company a message to see if they can link anything.

The Chinglish on the box is priceless: "Awesome flys for dream" :)

Oh, and I got this in on Friday (I think) for a magazine review - which has made me smile a lot.  It's so solidly built - although I need some smaller 4s lipos and a bunch of x30 plugs before I can do anything with it

iwan_canobi

That's awesome Wayne, you're really ramping up on the review game here! I mailed banggood to ask if I could do some reviews, but I think my paltry 360 subscriber count means they won't bother with me! :(

I started commenting on that Ewan, but probably not fair to clutter the thread up, so PM'ing you

No.
It's stronger, lighter, you can sand it to shape and it doesn't melt when you cover it.
Apart from that, it's the same as EPP..
:P

Technically it arrived yesterday... but I wasn't in and it went to the post office where I've just collected it.  Package from Hobbyking. I'm not a fan of them, but I need to write a review for the Vortex 150 before the end of the month so didn't have time to wait for a shipment from Banggood

The 150 manual warns against using 1300 lipos as they weigh a lot and will tend to smash it up more in a crash, so I ordered from 850mah 4s's.  There wasn't a great range in stock, and nothing with an xt30 attached.  So I'm going to swap out these Xt60's on the lipos I just got.

I could just swap to an xt60 on the 150 of course, but the little quad is so dinky that it would feel weird.  I have some spare male/female sockets to make up an xt30->xt60 adapter though just in case I need to use elsewhere, as well as a few charging cables.

RayBlueSky

Just arrived are my long wished for Cyclops V2 Goggles  ;D
Yeah I could have bought them months ago form HK global service but they are now on the EU warehouse site and probably soon to be on the UK site.
You either love goggles or hate them... but they are a PPP.. Perfect Price Point
I would never have entered the world of FPV if I had to pay 200-300 quid for FPV fatsharks
I went basic entry level quanum then quanum V2's and now The CyClops MmMuuUHhhHHAHha Sorry I got carried away there for a moment  :)

Regards RBS

Ratty

That was quick, i only ordered them on the 12th.  ;D
