The v3 was in stock, and the v5 was out of stock! Plus it was cheaper.   Didn't want to wait the usual times from Banggood etc.

It will do fine for this experiment, it's going in a nano talon.  If it works well, I'll put another in either the Drak, or maybe the MTD...

Well good luck, still, waiting for mine but at least you know it's a genuine board so,that's a bonus.

Ah, yes....be interested to see how you get on with those tiny M8N GPS receivers....Good price.

Soooo, is the latest Omnibus F4, now available v5?....ie 5 different flavours of the F4?....

I know I have two different kinds, although they look very alike at first glance.

Me too.  I've heard mixed reviews, but I thought I'd give it a shot on the Nano talon.  It seems wrong to me to fit a dirty great GPS receiver in a tiny little plane!

Just fired up the old CAD software and 3D printer to do a little mount for it too....

Nice...

Njoro

I ordered this case the week after my Mavic arrived, I got it today and I'm very impressed with the quality and strength of it. ;D

CurryKitten

I got this Bandicoot antenna from MenaceRC.  It's a linear patch antenna, so should give a boost to the little micro's with linear whip antennas

I should have a few more antennas turning up so I can do another comparison test.  Probably deeper into the woods to really stir up some static

CurryKitten

Probably nothing that'll interest the people here, but a few things turned up that I'll be looking at (maybe).  I got this toy grade thing from RCMoment which - like many - looks a tiny bit like a Mavic in it's styling.  Just runs off 1s lipos, but you get 3 batteries in the kit and it alt-holds, so perhaps a nice intro to flying for a little 'un

The next one is a bit more controversial... for two reasons.  Without wanting to air all my issues, a certain magazine asked if I wanted to review the Microdrone 3.0, which is also the same magazine that hasn't paid me for the past two pieces I've written and is starting to really annoy me.  So I said - we need to sort out this payment problem before I do anything else for you.

and low and behold, this arrived anyway

[/url]

Not heard of this before, but I took a look at the videos used to fund it on indegogo (I think) and they really got my back up.  Very obviously filmed on something like a Phantom, aside from the odd bit and seemed to present this as something it isn't.  What it is, is a 1s brushed quad with a 1axis gimbal on a magnetic camera.

Still firmly in the toy-grade end of the spectrum, the TX came out with a switch hanging off and the other one loose

I found a collection of bits inside and outside the radio

Whilst putting that back together - which was no fun, but hey I know how a switch fits together now, you will notice that the radio's antenna is a complete dummy.  You can see the actual antenna attached the the back of the main board (the switch I was working on separated from the wire on it's own - a combination of awful solder joints and very rigid wire)

So I may or may not actually look at this depending on my issues with the magazine

Every time I see one of these my stomach turns. I've only ever had bad experiences with the company and their products :(

If it's that bad surely you're obliged to post a review of it to show others who might buy it how bad it is.

No doubt it'll appear as a video review at some point... mainly the magazine situation is winding me up.  Anyway, it goes to the back of the queue whilst I have actual stuff to work on.

This Tiny7 just arrived from Banggood earlier today
