Well, today I finaly got round to maidening the Bixler.  Quite happy with it, could do with a little more umph and I think I am going to have to move the ESC outside as it was getting a tad warm.   I have had to replace one aileron linkage as the clevis snapped and also re-hinged one of the ailerons.  None of that was too much of a suprise having seen teh list of bits and bobs on RCG.

Maiden went well.  In fact I was soon flying it under the goal posts at the new "maidening field" I have noted round the corner from me.  I got a bit carried away and manage to knock the elevator off the tail.  I have CA'ed it in place, but I think I will beed to revisit the glue, so will give it a dose of gorilla glue tomorrow.

Can wait to get my FPV gear in it and give it a whirl.....

Bixler's a lovely flying machine isn't it? nice and smooth and effortless. Are you flying the RTF version or did you buy kit?

I might buy a kit one to suppliment my RTF. I've just put a 6x4 prop on mine, but the motor and ESC are still stock. I've read that people upgrade the ESC when putting a bigger prop on there, even though the motor can handle it fine.

Be warned. If you got the ARTF, the hardware is cr*p. I had to replace all the hardware except for the hatch magnets.
I replaced the push rods/wires, servos, control horns, motor, also I did not trust the control hinges so remade them.
Although it is not my FPV model (I use an EZ*) it is a great flyer. I have added flaps and works well for short landings.

Landing is pretty effortless without flaps at present, though you would think so by the end of the video, but that wasnt supposed to be a landing! LOL

Agree regarding the control linkages.  Servos seem OK so far though.

I got it as ARTF, so just added my RX, a ESC and a battery and it was good to go.

Looking forward to getting round to putting the video gear in it.  It is nice to have something to fly which is less than 50 quid and doesnt matter if I hit a goal post with it! LOL
