Hey guys,

Does anyone use the wireless fatsharks for relaying a wireless signal from their main receivers rather than the aircraft? Is this possible, or does everyone else just use the standard goggles and run the leads to their receivers...?   :+

I've just been reading up on this stuff, myself. I think your idea is the same as one mentioned in a thread on RCG. Markus, who seems to know these things inside out, didn't think it was a good idea.

Keith,

Thanks for the link - I think relaying the signal will only reduce its quality. I'll stick with phono cables direct into the receiver...

It's a shame the latest fatsharks with the best FOV and head-tracker have that antenna built in - I'm sure it can be bypassed though to plug into the receiver.

adds another point of failure, I sometimes use the inbuilt RX on my dominators but mainly I fly with my full ground station setup and they are plugged into an external lawmate rx

Funnily enough, I had a Dominator credit card splurge about an hour ago. I was going to go with just an external receiver, but the module for the goggles was only $30, so I got that as well. I'm planning on two types of flying: a) serious AP b) fun fpv. For AP work, the built-in receiver should be fine, because I won't need the distance,  and it'll be a lot less cumbersome.
