I'm over in Ascot and am glad it's not just me that struggles to find places to fly given I pretty much live in a forest!
There's a perfect spot in Windsor Great Park but I got completely stitched up by a flying club there last year. Looked at me like I had 2 heads when I said I had an FPV quad. Said they were banned from the park but pointed to a quiet corner I could probably fly it in.  Next thing I know the warden shows up to give me a bollocking and said the guy at the flying club told me I couldn't fly there but that I said I was going to anyway. Talk about a mace up!

Anyway, bit of a rant but up for some local flying too!

Nr. Lymington. Lucky enough to be able to fly on my own land :)

wow there is another pilot!
Hellooooo lol
you have your own land to fly, nice!
Give me a shout if you fancy someone to fly with

Me and a friend are, flying FPV quadcopters, in Portsmouth.

Places to fly are limited here as it's so busy and we're always having to spot for each other rather than fly together.

We'd happily travel to meet up and fly, and swap knowledge, with anyone in the Hampshire area who has access to a good flying spot.

Cheers

Hey everyone, I'm going to pick up a ZMR on Sunday (thanks Ratty) so I will soon be up for some friendly meets/races. I live near Salisbury but work near Southampton so let me know if anyone local is up for it.

There is an old naval ammunition storage facility near me (Dean Hill Park) and it's got loads of land. I'm going to speak to the owner (it's now private) and see if he'll entertain the idea of using some of the surplus land for flying.

Im nr lymington too and always on the lookout for people in the near vicinity to fly with. Finding land that you can fly from with the New Forest on your doorstep is a bit of a challenge.

Hey all, nice to see theres some flyers about !!
I have a really really nice fly area...just off the A36, at Canada common, West Wellow, gravel Public parking area, and a short walk of 10 mins. The area is huge and i use a silver birch woodland for racing  about under all the trees (totally perfect) and the area also opens to lots of flat, open ground for freestyle (and the woods) and open air racing.
I've only ever had positive responses from the locals there. The only pain in the arse is when someone see's you sat out, decides to walk right into your flying area, i only fly when area is safe of numties. See its something that doesnt interest them so they then walk back on their original route, back across the area again. As for the local wild life, horses, donkeys and cattle, they dont even move....thinking of using the stationary cattle as race gates! lols.
I normally stop at the local shop, grab some stuff to eat and drink and then over the road for 4 or 5 hrs of flying.
I will try to sort out a vid of the place and link it up.
Let me know what your thoughts are to meeting up....when the weather bucks up!

That's about 10 mins from my house! I'd be very interested! Now I just need to work out why my quad is falling out of the sky at random intervals!

Dave

VERY close to me too, always up for exploring new places to fly :)

Keep us posted ;)

Local pilots to that area, cool! it's the best place around. I'll be out there later this morning as its still and very sunny out . I'll be over there during the weekend too if weather plays ball.
