Yeah ;D It's nice to make stuff a little individual, I watched a couple of airbrushing videos on the tube to refresh my memory as I hadn't done any for ages, my little lad(5) watched them with me, I returned from the man cave after doing it and he said "It looks cool Daddy, but why didn't you do the lightning on it??" :laugh:

Fitted the servos and did the laminating, can't say I enjoyed the laminating in the slightest.... :laugh:

I don't really want to use fibre reinforced tape to attach the elevons as it won't be so pretty then.... Whats good stuff to use and what width?

I just need my parcel to turn up from hobbyking, Parcelfarce's latest excuse Friday was they couldn't find my property!!!! It has a postcode FFS!!

Finally my box of bits from Hobbyking have been delivered!!! 5 days late but here now :o The Parcelfarce man said "Sorry, I was on holiday last week, the driver they got in to cover failed to make many of the deliveries...." My address was of course perfectly and correctly printed on the label, so the whole 'insufficient address data' was just BS, surprise surprise :laugh:

Anyway I can get on with getting this thing into a flyable condition later!! :D

More a case of the fill in driver not being bothered sadly, the regular guy that brought it today also said he had 80 deliveries to make today because of it, doesn't sound many I know but it's the 'in the sticks' route where there could well be a mile or three between deliveries.

Finished(to a point) for the maiden flights, the rx wires are just hanging out of the top for now as I may put a different one in and I need to make something better than a strip of insulation tape to stop the YI falling out. It has had 4 batteries through it and flies nice, very nice. Landing is a bit of a problem as it just glides forever lol.

For the love of god fit some velcro to secure that camera. I lost mine after flying inverted on my maiden! Fortunately I had it so nose heavy she still flew well when I landed it.

LOL, I wrapped some insulation tape around it to stop it falling out, did some inverted flying, rolls and a loop or two and the cam was still there :D

Bit disappointed with the YI though, it made some corrupted video files so half my footage from today was lost.

I've never had that, have you tried updating the firmware?

Where's the other half of the footage that was recorded properly? As of right now the maiden hasn't happened... :P

Yeah, I've updated to the latest FW, it's got a samsung 32gb class 10 card in too. I'll try formatting the card again and see if it helps, it was recording in 1080p 60fps.
The video is rendering right now :P Can't upload until after 11pm as I live in an interweb dead spot and so am forced to pay £50pm for 30Gb of satellite interweb(unlimited usage between 11pm and 7am) and a 7 minute 1080p 60fps video is gong to be more than a days worth of allowance....lol

Maiden Video! The first launch at the start of the video was very wobbly lol, the falcon was very twitchy and sensitive and took me a bit by surprise! For the first battery I was rolling/wobbling side to side as each of my corrections would go a bit too far :laugh: Still managed to get it trimmed up and after landing and adding more expo it behaved wonderfully. It is very floaty and glides superbly, infact the only problem was landing as it just keeps going :laugh:
Looks like I need to trim a little more foam out as you can see it in the corners of the video......

Nice one JT, that looks like it's flying really well now. Glad to see you got nice and low pretty much straight away!
