jt's Falcon EVO! now with maiden video!

 These just look so good I had to have one :laugh: I like my current wing wing but it's so cramped inside and can only carry the mobius which I am no great fan of TBH, I also won a YI cam on another forum and it needed to go in something......
I have never built a plane before, in fact my mate even glued the wings on my wing wing for me lol! So this should be fun.... I'm following the order of things in the manual to the letter although it does seem some things may have been better to do before the manual says to do them lol.
The plan is to paint it black as I'm hoping it will make it easier to follow as white planes disappear against the sky in the fatsharks too easily. My collection of 2200mAh 3s will also have a use again!!

The kit arrived really quickly, which is really nice and I was confronted by this


I set to work, putting the fuse/centre part together


I put a quick coat of black on the parts


I had dug out some foam to fit the cams in, it was a hell of a job getting the edges of the foam out of the YI's FOV and got a bit carried away with the knife but it should be good.... I just cut a slit to push the FPV cam wires into and then plan on gluing the slit back up once they are in. I will also need to fashion something to stop the slippery little YI from escaping!


I had a quick dry fitting of the wings and it does look very black lol, so I painted the elevons orange and have started to toy with the idea of putting some kind of colour on here and there.lol


On the advice of iPeel I went for hotglue to attach the wings instead of UHU Por, glad I did as it worked a treat and they feel really well on there :D


I'm waiting on a bag of mg90s servos to come through the post, a cheap 600mw vtx from china and most annoyingly my box of bit's from Hobbyking, they should have come Wednesday but didn't, I figured they would just show up today but when they didn't I checked the tracking and good old parcelfarce have marked it as 'insufficient address data' WTF, I have had plenty of HK deliveries made by them, so why they would suddenly get confused now >:(

Yeah, thanks for the tip, I left the glue gun on for about 20 minutes to make sure it was at it's very hottest lol

What power set did you go for?

I've got the 2826 2200kv and 2826 1400kv coming so that I can try both suggested options, I will probably go for the 2200 to start with, I have one on my wing wing and it goes about 95kph on that.

Not sure if I will regret not painting mine. Black does look great and I too have gone for Orange elevons!

  I may add some more colour to it to break the black up a bit, not too sure yet.

Stickers and vinyl will go on  really well once the laminate is applied

 Yeah, I have a vinyl cutter so could go that route, although I started to think about airbrushing 'lava' on it(I'm 41,should I really be thinking about airbrushing stuff on it  :laugh:)

Still no delivery of my box of bits from hobbyking, Parcelfarce, despite telling me they now have my address sorted and it would be delivered, didn't manage it for the third day running........... The servos have turned up through the post though so I can get them cut in tomorrow and think about doing the laminate :o
