Hi Guys

Just a head's up, this supplier on eBay has these pitot tubes back in stock!

I've used them with much success with the MFD AP Air Speed Sensor.

Got mine now Rich, thanks for the heads up
Just one thing though, which tube goes to which hole on the sensor? Or is it just a case of fitting, blowing on the tube and seeing if you got airspeed on the osd
Cheers

That was quick - just ordered one for myself as well... This morning I nosed the EZ in... :(

Anybody interested in printing some side fuse off sets for these so that it doesn't have to come right out the front of the fuse? I think they will last a bit longer like that :)

You do not need both tubes connected now. Charles has said that you now disconnected the tube  from the inlet nearest the pcb. This is the static pressure. The top tube is connected to a straight tube and pointed into the airstream.

Thanks BigT - is this info in a manual or post somewhere? Could you link it please? Is this something for the new firmware? I have not downloaded the new firmware and not sure I will co's my planes on MFD AP are all flying well, and airspeed with both tubes connected is accurate.

Do you then know of a single pitot to use, or is it just a case of not plugging one in?

It's nothing new, it's always been the same, the second tube measures static pressure. Great for fighter jets with pressurized cabins, pointless for foam models that are not pressurized.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Personally I'm seriously not convinced this is good practise. You have to make sure that there is no airflow where the sensor is. There is bound to be some. In fact there Should be some surely. Cooling over the ESC for example and that will prob be highly dependent on airspeed.. And you cant predict its direction and speed.

Seems easier to me to connect 2nd tube than try to figure what airflow near sensor is doing..

still if people cant be assed to connect 2nd tube...

There is no question that this works. Try it and see for your self. In fact the fy tech as sensor has only one port.
