Any further updates on this project, i really fancy a small proximity wing after seeing an fpv bonsai on the x jet channel, will this wing slow up and be controllable or is it just a nutters wing

Yes, I managed to maiden it this morning. It was still a bit windy but definitely flyable.

I still need to get my eye in flying it, it's definitely going to be a lot of fun though! It'll be great at the next FPV meet with a few of these bombing around. I'm not all that happy with the quality of the camera I'm using, it was all a bit murky although I can probably trim the brightness and contrast a bit better through the goggles.

Well i think iam going to order one with the power kit and servos, its near as dam the same price as the HK bonsai and it fits my criterior, i need it to fit inside a sports direct bag, have good flight times and its ready made for micro fpv gear ive just ordered and ive got 4 x 1000 3s lipos

You won't regret it, it flies as well as a wing twice its size. There's not bags of room but the centre section still makes placement a bit easier and strengthens the join compared to a wing without a blunt section.

One thing I would make a note of is not to use a hot glue gun when glueing the servos in place and use Por instead. The micro servos have a really thin case and if your hot glue gun is too hot then it can actually sieze up the gears in the servos.  (?)

Thanks for the tip on the servos, is it worth laminating the wing, ive read the extra weight is cancelled out by less drag of the laminate and i hate foam planes for marking or do i keep it as light as possible as i want to slow fly it, the build instructions on the website say to use por for the elevon hinges is this reliable,again i could laminate the hinges in

There's no need to laminate it, the three spars make it stiff and you really want to avoid the extra weight. Laminating won't affect drag that much and given the size and thickness of the wing you risk warping, it'd be a really fiddly job too!

The elvons are held on with a bead of Por glue and work fine to create a strong joint. In fact, be careful you don't use too much por. Once you have attached the elevons using Por avoid the temptation to tape over the hinge or laminate, it really doesn't need it.
