Hi Guys & Ladies.

Well finally maidened the Venturi Evo a couple of days ago but have only just had time to get a video up..  I set up a runcam 2 on a little tripod on the car roof to get some good flyby shots but seem to have ended up with a time lapse vid lasting about 5 seconds with just a field on it.  I've also managed to make to mobius footage look pretty crap on youtube too..... :D

So this was the first flight of my Venturi Evo and the launches (3 in total) all went ok.

The hole in the 3d printed front cowl needs enlarging   for the mobius  as it's obscuring the lens a bit.  The other side for the sony effio board cam seems just about ok.

The plane managed about 118kph full throttle in a flat run and feels like I need to put a motor with more grunt on the back.  Managed to catch the grass at full speed with a wingtip and spin it into the field but luckily no damage.   What max speeds on a flat run are other people getting and with what motors/props ?

Currently it's running an NTM propdrive 35-42 1000kv motor on 4s which by the end of the vid was sounding a bit rough so I landed

The venturi flew really well for a maiden and 2 subsequent flights and when it's trimmed out properly I think it'll be great.

It seems pretty tough, and suffered no damage in the 118kph snagging up in the grass when I flew too low.  (on the vid  :D)

All in all, I'm very pleased with the plane so far.

Looks good, you soon got down low with it on the maiden!

Sounds similar-ish top speed to mine, running a hacker A10 with a 10x6, pulling about 30 amps WOT.

You were lucky to survive clipping a wing tip.

I run a Ritewing 1200kv motor on a 9x6. Pulls about 65amps and a top speed of just under 100mph.

I'm sure iPeel will be along with his setup,  his old setup with an SK3 motor from HK had very similar Performance to mine.

Funnily enough I'm looking at similar power set ups on my wing. Looking at ecalc an 8x6 should give around 120kph on an ntm 3542 1250kv pulling around 50A on 4s. I'm just waiting on a small 3s battery to arrive to power the cyclops storm then I'll give it a go. Ideally I'd have liked to try a 9x6 but it pulls too many amps and over rated the motor apparently - I should probably have a fitted a slightly smaller motor, or lower kv anyway!
At the moment I have a 10x6 on a 3s setup.

At the moment I'm running a Scorpion 1180kv on a 9x7.5 prop with my old faithful / long suffering JP EnerG Pro 80a ESC.

It's been way too windy to get any sensible speed data yet, but I'm feeling good about the setup.
