2016 crash

Ok am I the first one to do it? 9.30am this morning I stuffed my 250 into a muddy football pitch. Its still drying out in the airing cupboard. Will see what the damage is tomorrow. 😐

Stuffing a 250 into a puddle doesn't count as a crash - it's just part of normal flying on a 250 - I reckon average one prop per ten minutes flight time (?)
Tried to crash my Laser Arrow this afternoon, but it flies so well, you'd have to be a complete Dillwhacker to manage to crash it. It's flipping great ;)

OK OK, so we're all fighting to be the first crasher of 2016... here's the first crash video of 2016, happened at around 0930 yesterday.

Even with a 3000mah 4S, and a fpv cam, and a mobius... all on the nose.... the flyingwings falcon (1st generation, non-fpv version) was completely unflyable.... extremely tail heavy, as you can see.

Yeah that looked wickedly tail heavy. Was there no CG to go off ?

How bad was the damage ?

The airframe itself was in perfect condition, laminated EPP with a carbon spar is pretty much indestructable.

The Mobius V3 with C2 lens however... completely destroyed the lens and now the mobius won't switch on... SD card was popped out the back but not all the way, so salvaged the card, but no recording on it.

How did you manage to get that Falcon so tail heavy with that lipo - is the motor huge ? My Falcon with a 2200 3s balances out fine ?

Looks very similar to my first flights with my Falcon gen1. I had no idea that it would need so much lead up front as ballast, thanks to iPeel for that and helping me out.

Mine was with a 2200mah battery, fpv camera and mobius up front, but still needed a few lumps of lead weights.

I thought it was to map the throttle stick to a 2 postion switch?

I think in iPeel's case that is the RCTx on switch :laugh:

wings like this always struggle to get decent weight up front to balance CG... but probably didn't help that I had a 2836 2200kv motor on the back lol

either way, the airframe was perfect, easily flyable again (although the prop had shattered on impact). But I couldn't stand having a repairable airframe sitting looking at me in my garage, tempting me to spend time "fixing" it.... so I destroyed it... well I tried to....

smashed the wing on a post, smacked it with a mallet, and kicked it around the field.... it was still fine lol

so I slashed away at the lam so I could rip it in half... even then it took some hulk like effort to break it lol.
