That's fine but you could fit it like you had before but as Dillwhacker did with half of it at least poking out so the air hits it.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Probably a stupid question but is it ok to cut my gps wire and extend it using some servo wire?
I'm going to put it at the back near rudder where tx was

Gps now locks in much quicker away from vtx!

BigT

We put the gps on top off the tail plane, the vtx at the front of the boom, the AP on the cog inside and the ESC behind it and the radio Rx in the top box under the wing. With the Futaba 2.4 r700sb Rx, 600mw 5.8 vtx and bignoses 4 lobes we can get a theoretical 3k as long as the model had a clear path. Eg no obstructions but for those interested the geofence on the fy41 is set much lower than that.

I have my GPS sensor on the boom, the 2.4GHz FrSky antennas poking out of the side of the fuselage at a 90 degree V and my 5.8GHz 250mw VTX out on the wing near the wing tip :)

Bignose skew on the goggles, and fatshark spironet skew on the wing of the plane (for the protective dome :) )

No video breakup skew to skew to 1.2km so far, no telemetry beeping on the FrSky and no GPS loss.

Thats good to know. I just set my dad up on a mini skywalker with a 250mw 5.8 and was wondering what kind of range he'd get on skews.

I tried to maiden today, it keeps on rolling to the left dramatically on take off, even with opposing trim.

has anyone else had this issue?

:(

Hows the balance of the aircraft? I assume you're not throwing it with a crosswind? how is it once up in the air cruising?

i couldn't get it to take off

AdamG

Thats odd. I take it everything looks straight and there is no irregular balance? i.e. you didn't put all the heavy gear on the left? :P

Pics of the finished plane might help
