Can the STORM  AP/OSD  use the PPM output from an Rx to control the functions in the osd ?

I have a Tornado ver coming  for a  dragonlink model but I have some storm  units too .

Yes, it can accept PPM (you can even set it in the menu somewhere)
However, Storm does not control Throttle or Rudder so those still have to be PWM :(

Storm can acccept PPM to control Ailerons,Elevator,Flight mode and the OSD layout :)

Edit: changed it to elevator :P

Thanks for reply  , do you mean  ailerons , elevators  , modes and OSD screens  ?

Do  you know which  input it is  on the storm unit  ?
see pic .

Just updated 1 unit to V2.2 .
I checked the menu  of v2.1 and it does have  PPM  option and you can change the chs for the ail , elev , modes, and display .
Which  input do you use for the PPM going into the storm though ?

Have a play and let me know what you find out! Got a storm in my scratchbuilt wing and it would be good to cut down the wiring.

Yes.   It works.

Can't remember the one used for input -  may have been elevator in.  Just try each until it works!

Its odd that it doesn't have a BUS input like the Tornado, as thats where you plug in the PPM signal. You can definitely do it on the storm though, there is a dedicated thread on RC groups where you will definitely get an answer really quickly if nobody on here can answer that one.

I use Dragon link with my Tornado and use PPM and it works for everything apart from RSSI, so i need 2 x servo cables going from Rx to Tornado.

On the Storm osd you connect the single cable to the MOD channel after switching it on in the osd.

Thanks guys ,  Tj  thanks for the update  will try that .
The only problem I can see is you need both  signals  PPM and PWM  to fly with .
I have a dragonlink  Rx (going to use a Tornado OSD ) with that .
So other option is  X8R Rx ,   sBUS (with PPM converter )  & PWM for other controls .

Well sbus with the cppm converter lead is probably the best solution then because pwm is still available through the normal channel pins.

I use the L9R with my Storm....I just use the normal servo outputs and the dedicated rssi port.....Works just fine....Its a very good reciever, but it can suffer from TX signal swamping when at very close range....So...Beware..!!!

Hi guys, wonder if anyone can help, I have a Dragon Link V2 , bought secondhand but unused, it needs firmware updating, I just finished my Hobbyking Drifter, it's ready to go with a Cyclops Tornado, bit frustrating as there are none on the DL site, but only need to update the FW, have done all my money on this project, is sad to see it sitting here already to go, the RX is the older bigger type, so if anyone can help I would be eternally grateful, am in North Essex.

Cheers
