Windrider Explorer Bee

A few people on here have successfully adapted the Windrider Scout Bee as an FPV ship. Now Ming has come up with a new wing specifically for FPV. Not much info yet but here's a few links.

Looks to be a great design.

However, I am a bit surprised that looking at the 'Description' link - the photograph seems to show the wing spar not continuing across the central fuselage section.

I wonder if this would this lead to a weakness in the central section ??

It looks to me like the spar goes right through and those are just two holes that you can see it through.

Looks adequate for your average FPV flying. Maybe not bombing down mountains but wings generally snap in the middle as that's where all the force is concentrated.

All those little wing fences, though.  Looks like he was having a few issues somewhere along the line.

I rather suspect the spar is already incorporated into the moulding like some of his other Bee designs. The holes are possibly just tooling holes.

Looking closely at the image in Dogzilla's Post, 2 above, I can now see I was partly right and partly wrong.
The image above shows there are 2 spars fitted - the rearmost being one continuous length, with a second spar further forward (the one I saw) being in two pieces.

The vorx gens on the upper surface suggest lots of turbulence over the control surfaces...i suspect from the flat nose causing all sorts of crazy things!

the wing tips look similar to those on the X6. the X6 does not come with wing fences and I have been toying with the idea of adding some due to some unwanted flying characteristics.

Also, that thing could do with a spar closer to the middle of the fuselage section rather than just right at the back of it.

my mistake, it appears the wing is a one piece moulding rather than 2 wings and a separate centre section. should be fine :)
