Evening all.

I'm about to install my first Vector in a plane, and I was wondering if p0utting it about 5 inches aft of the CG is as bad as the manual makes out?  I can see why it might work best near the CG, but is 5 inches so bad on a plane with a 60" span>

Also, how reliable is the little PSU unit for powering a FPV camera and VTX?  I like the idea of reducing wiring by having one unit that does pretty much everything....

I wouldn't worry about it being that far off in a model that size and as for the PSU, I've got a number of Vectors and always run the camera and vtx off the PSU with no problems (rx also usually), it's servos that you need to power separately.

Ah great, that should cut out the need for an external BEC then.  I'm running the two servos off the 5A bec that is built into the esc.  If I've understood the manual correctly,  this is handled by the vector servo conceptions being isolated from the vector power supply.

The PSU in the Vector is rated to 1 amp. So it really depends how much power your VTX and camera need, as long as you are under 1a, you shouldn't have a problem.

General advice is not to run servos off your ESC if you can help it. A BEC is fairly cheap and trivial to wire up.

VTX and camera won't pull anywhere near a whole amp, so you'll be fine

I run my VTX and Cam from the Vector PSU.
