If you are expecting one of those then leave it, that should do the trick.

AAAAGGHHHH!!
I just got one of these and tried it...

No improvement....
Adjusting the gain pot makes the image slightly brighter / darker and more noisy, but the sync problem where the top of the picture jitters sideways is still there wherever I set the output level.
Boo hoo hoo I'm stumped.

Sorry about that mate. Id say it was down to your Video reciever myself? Have you tried using an alternate lead between your VRX and relay transmitter?

I'm using a LawMate 1.2G receiver, with the Immersion 25mw relay Transmitter. It seems to work flawlessly, the image just   looks like there is no VTX relay in the circuit.

Cheers buddy.
The VRX is RMRC with Eagle Eyes - all the vid outputs are perfect into 2 different monitors & perfect when cabled to the goggles.
I have buzzed out the screened RCA/RCA cable between Eagle eyes VRX and 5.8 VTX - it's fine, zero ohms screen to screen and inner to inner, no shorts etc.
And I know the (three different) VTX work with my goggles when driven by a camera, cos thats what I fly all the time.
So everything works on its own, just not in combination.......

Does the problem exist with the EEGS removed?

Assuming at that point you have the RMRC Receiver > VTX directly coupled or with the distributor in the middle?

I have the Partom 1.3 VRXes which I think use the composite units so I could test that here.

Yes - if I connect direct from the RMRC to the 5.8 VTX, the problem is still there.
I haven't tried that with the 4 way distributor in the middle, but as it made no difference with the EEGS, I think it's unlikely.
It's very odd - the top of the picture is jittery, and the whole picture seems to be noisy and grainy, especially bright colours. It's blooming perfect using the cable to the goggles, or a camera into the VTX..

Have you cured it yet m8..?
:vulture:

No, I blooming haven't !
Sort of given up knowing I can get good image with a cable to the goggles, and been busy with other bits & just flying etc.
Still completely stumped TBH..
Proved video good. Proved VTX & Goggles good.
They just don't work together - beats me ATM
:o

I use a none immersion Vtx on my RMRC relay to l goggles and screen, works great.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Dillwhacker

I know ! Everybody's works great except mine  :+
I have tried Immersion 25mW VTX and FT951 25mW - both tha same.
Have tried everything I can think of... I am a sparkie, so sort-of know one end of a DVM from the other - but I'm proper stumped with this...

Thought I would revisit this issue as I am about to construct a 1.2 to 5.8 relay to work with the mfd AAT. I have used a similar set up for ground FPV for some time but with the RMRC vrx and 5.8'vtx just stuck on a board and up a pole. It worked really well so I didn't expect any issues when transferring the kit to the MTD. However having assembled all the components on the bench prior to construction I find that I too have a thick band of lines across the top of the image and the osd is jumping around. The only difference in the set ups is the airborne set has the video passing  through a MFD AP and is on all available channels.
The band is still there even if a cable from RMRC to monitor is used with the signal passing through the tracker or not. I suspect that it may be a faulty cable but I am curious if your issue was ever sorted?

Dont know about the image banding problem, maybe you dont need the complexity of a tracker if you are using a Patch antenna with a very wide field of view..?
The little 1280mhz Yagi Im now using has an even wider beam to fly in, and being much smaller and lighter, well suited to a Tracker, as is the compact Lawmate VRX.

I think Blueflyers Tracker setup demonstrates this very well.

I think the issue is with the tracker or the driver. Maybe the fault was more involved than just the power and earth to the slipring. With the tracker out of the loop the wireless signal to the goggles is fine. I will try tomorrow with the tracker in the loop as I am waiting on a few bits to complete the relay box, heatsink, fan, etc.

I never did resolve this - I gave up and just used the cable.
Might have another go sometime as I do fancy the freedom of wireless goggles.
Still baffled...
1280RX > cable > goggles is fine.
Camera > 5.8VTX > VRX in goggles is fine.
1280RX > 5.8TX > VRX in goggles is screwed...
