A MFD Was Lost and Found

The story is that the MFD was lost on when the ground station  video went down, I think it was the second flight. Apparently he was flying at an altitude below the launch point and the Vector would not arm the motors in RTH as the model was below the launch point.

He was lucky to get it back minus the top hatch.

That's not the first time someone has been daft enough to fly behind a mountain and wonder why RTH flew into it. You would think they had a degree of common sense.

It won't be the last either.

thats crazy were that ended up wow! wouldnt fancy climbing up there. risk your neck !!

Not for a lump of foam. It's have to be very beautiful, very nude and very low on morals to get me up there.

Id want to use a heavy lift multi to go up with some form of hook to rescue it.

That would be my approach too.

A fishing hook or something. But if the mtd was fully loaded with battery it would have been v heavy. The size of the multi needed would be far more expensive than the mtd.

Just watched the video again and I am surprised none of us have commented up to now on the excellent use of a "Drone" to find the downed model. The quality of the video is everybit as good as that seen by Air Sea Rescue on the tv. That model could have been a lost walker or animal.
