I never realised just how good flight controllers were.

OK I have an ET Vector which is installed in my FlyingWings Falcon.

The Falcon flies really nice. It gets blown around a little in gusty winds but the Vector helps my brilliant piloting skills (I have a total of about 3 hours airtime :D).

I have a rotary knob on my Taranis which is mapped to control the Vector gains. Not thought much about it to be honest. Its been set at its mid point since fitting.

So, I'm out yesterday. Two nice flights. I think "what would happen if I turn my gain knob down?".

OMFG!! turn it back up quick!!

What I thought was great flying skills were in fact a brilliant flight controller masking a badly trimmed airframe and a mediocre (at best) pilot.

I will try and trim the Falco befoe the next flight. It noses over so I assume I need more reflex and it rolls to the right so I will give the left wing a turn or two more than the right.

Anyway. Skywalker maiden today. I will try the gain knob on that and get it trimmed so the Vector is just helping when needed.

Vector FC =  :gotit:

My building and flying skills =

Haha  :D Falcon is a really nice fun plane when its not windy... but like you say, it does get chucked around a fair bit in gusty winds. I only ever fly it full manual mode though  \0/ I've not tried the Vector but only heard good things. I'm sure I'll have a go with one at some point.

Good luck with the Skywalker maiden. Much easier to fly than the Falcon so you'll have no problem  ;)

Always fly your plane with the fc turned off until you have got it trimmed out properly. Then land and incorporate the trims into the Vector.
