I fitted a HMDVR to my little 180 Mantis Hex last night and found a gap between showers to give it a test flight this morning. The DVR weighs about 9.5gms in its case, and uncased 5gms, so it can be carried easily by a micro multicopter.
I have wired it in paralell with the VTX so there is zero latency. If I used a foxeer 1200 line ccd camera the vtx would record in near HD. I am using an Eachine ET25 and 600 tv line Cmos camera which doesen't handle light changes so well.
However, the HMDVR recorded as well as the camera output would allow, and provides a lightweight recording solution for small FPV models, and it's results so far are better than I can get on my ground station recorder.https://youtu.be/rjc8U8i9xzw

Was the curry good while you were editing ?

Actually the music made a refreshing change from the usual fare.

A bit too early for curry for me, but my wife wants me to cook supper this evening, so I was contemplating what to do - Shahi paneer pehaps? ;D

yes, I'm quite pleased with the recording quality, particularly for £18, it's certainly much better than the recordings I get from my ground station recorder. I tried connecting this dvr in series yesterday so that I could try out the different menue options, (not possible when connected in parallel) but the latency of this device made the Hex un-flyable. A short lap from this evenings flying in much more favourable conditions.
