I dont understand how anyone who truly believes in Democracy, can Vote to Remain shackled to the EU...???

How many times do we need to have it proven that ours is ONE voice of some 28 Countries?....and that these EU Commissioners are NOT voted IN or can be voted OUT.....They are answerable to nobody.
  Cameron Et Al love being in the EU, It's like a Politician's wet dream for them, answerable to nobody, they can just blame the EU if the UK gets another sh*tty deal...All of the gravy trappings with none of the responsibility...

And when the chips are down, they just ignore us (and other Countries) and do just what they want anyway.....That's Dictatorship in my book, not Democracy....

And if anyone else mentions "Roaming Charges"....Im going to Sqweem.

I was one of those people who voted in the 70's and I voted no. However if memory serves there was no mention of all these other countries becoming 1 nation. It was sold to the UK as the EEC or Common Market, not losing our sovereignty. I can remember getting a lecture on the importance of the country remaining independent, the commonwealth, Magna Carter, and what makes GB great, from my father, who saw action in WW2. I believe the in vote then was 52% and the out was 47% with a low turnout of 42%.

I have just re read my post and I think it needs a bit more explanation:
1975 I was 23, married, mortgaged up to the eyeballs, had to move away from my home town to just be able to afford a small house just finished my 5 year apprenticeship and was desperate to get a better job more money, had a recession due to working a 3 day week in 1972 and 1974 due to the bloody miners strike, 1972 saw 80,000 plus Ugandan Asians expelled by Idi Amin moist of whom pitched up in the UK making social housing non existant, schools overcrowded, NHS underfunded and under pressure (no change there then) and no jobs to be had, then the government wanted us to join up to a political gravy train and allow a lot more foreigners in. Thats why I voted NO.
Does any of the above look vaguely similar to the UK now?

Not racist so much as showing a quite deep misunderstanding of how economies function.  The NHS is not struggling because it's a finite resource that has "run out" it's simply underfunded, because that is always the first step in every plan to privatise anything ever, make it really bad then sell people an alternative.  That people fall for the line that immigrants are draining all the resources is just unfortunate but the facts are that immigration has made a contribution to the available resources, people are the resource that makes money.

Yes migrants do add to the economy in the correct numbers but we have uncontrolled migration that is putting a strain on public services and crime rates have increased due to unregulated migration, 14% of the prison population are foreign nationals, that's just crazy. Too much migration and erosion of democracy changes a country to were right wing parties gain support because of lack of democratic governance, you see this happening all over Europe.

What we should be doing is having a sensible immigration plan that gets people in where they are needed as well as allowing in the best and brightest people from around the world to come and settle here because it's those people who will bring in the tax money, those people who generally won't shit out 15 kids and those people who make a valuable contribution to the country.

What we have now is unlimited EU migration with no say on who comes, no surprise we have a bunch of bums from Romania crammed into one bed flats scraping a living paying  :censored:  all tax and taking up valuable resources. A friend of mine is a teacher at the local school and she said they have more foreign kids than British, so much that she has half the class chattering away in their own tongues. She recons the standard of the classes has dropped massively because she just can't teach at the same pace.

And yet we have locked down non-Eu migration so much that we are turning down people who we should be welcoming with open arms.

I actually married a johnny foreigner and have some understanding of just how strange the system is. My wife was sent to boarding school in the UK at the age of 8 and spent 14 years in education here, ended up with two degrees, and a master and went onto study medicine (paid for out of her own pocket) but she still wasn't allowed any kind of permanent status and faced being deported. Given that she was more British at this point than anything else it felt like a slap in the face. The NHS is importing thousands of doctors from places like Nigeria yet quite happy to send home students who have trained here in the UK which just doesn't make sense to me. The last doctor I spoke to could barely string a sentence together it was a disgrace.

Some might not agree that you should be given preferential treatment for studying here etc... but we are letting in asylum seekers, gypsie bums, absolute wastes and drains on society who shit out vast numbers of kids. Yet we turn away people who actually contribute much more than they take out. Economic madness if you ask me.

It's not madness though if you look at it from the beneficiaries point of view.

We, the public, are firmly in our place - no way out, dead end jobs, depression kicking in, no way to improve our situation in 99% of cases. The elite get richer, have more control over everything and victimise any of the 'normals' who speak up about it.

Meanwhile the public are given the ability to buy little tokens of happiness - a nice TV, credit to buy nice stuff (and get into more debt) thus perpetuating their continual spiral into nothing. Appeasement.

We've let this happen by not holding our politicians accountable. Nowadays all we do is moan on the internet or set up stupid  :censored:  facebook polls which have zero impact but give us the fuzzy feeling that we're doing something about it.

What we actually need is protests. Mass protests at the absolute lack of accountability in parliament. Harrassment of MPs until they do what they're supposed to be doing - serving the public.

Agree completely with Dogzilla.....The Politicos like Cameron et al, love being in their beloved EU....Being governed centrally by Brussels suits them, riding the EU gravy train with effectively a get out clause for everything bad....."We cant do anything about it, its EU rules"...We need points based Borders so badly, its so obvious to me....We need contributors, not shelf stackers and car washers...Not saying they all are BTW.....Its called BORDER CONTROL.....Lost on Cameron and Labour are just plain stupid, as usual.

1) Are you a shelf stacker or car washer?
2) Will you be working cash in hand only?
3) Will you be earning enough to pay Income Tax?..
4) How much "Working Tax Credits" would you like...?
5) Can we help you in sending your Sterling out of our country..?
6) How many kids would you like to claim for (including fake ones please)..?
7) We wont be checking on point 6, so please feel free.
8) Do you specialise in Lead or Copper removal?
9) Would you like to bring all your kids over, thereby guaranteeing a Council House?
10) Years of not having any dental treatment will be corrected FOC for you, but you may have to queue behind your mates.
11) If your partner is going to have a complicated birth, please bring her to use our NHS FOC.

The thing is - I don't think all immigrants are bad. Put yourselves in their shoes - say it was reversed and you had to drop everything you ever knew + owned, then travel hundreds of miles with your family in tow, a lot of uncertainty ahead.

I don't believe people come here to cause problems, I believe they come here to get a better life for themselves in MOST cases - and who can blame them. It's not their fault we're such soft touches, I mean - if there was a land within a 1000 miles that offered me (instead of my metal shack house in a slum) a nice 2 bed semi, a minimum income and the CHANCE of making a better life for myself no questions asked... I can't say I wouldn't start walking down the road....

We just need to tighten ourselves up a bit and start enforcing our laws instead of pussyfooting around human rights. The laws existed before you came, don't whine when they're applied after you've arrived. I'm looking at you, Muslims and your Sharia shit. Don't want UK law, stay away from the UK. Don't mind it? Come in, make yourselves at home and be a good member of society.

Like someone said above, the NHS is perfectly capable of taking on immigrants - provided it's funded properly. Let's face it, it hasn't worked properly for years (remember the doctors working 90-odd hour shifts a while ago?).

The problems of this nation lie squarely at the feet of politicians and EU bureaucrats. I say we take some control back and attempt to sort things out, immigrants or no bloody immigrants.
