Spot on - I don't blame the immigrants though. I'd do the same....
I'm from a 2nd generation of them.... Not that anyone would know apart from my surname.
Immigration should always be slow enough not to impact or be to the detrimnent of the natives.

If you are like me and happen to,live near an area that is swamped with people from countries with standards of education, security, health, social awareness, morality, family planning, criminality, much lower than the UK.
Next to People who come to this country for what they can get out of it short and long term and realise that the UK system is a soft touch compared to previous Eastern Block countries they are leaving, but are prepared to send money back to so they can return and build houses etc.
Who have children and grandchildren in local schools where 50 plus languages are spoken.
Who go to the local A&E and feel as if they are in a foreign country.
Who's aged relatives have their life savings removed so they can have safe care at the end of their lives, whilst we as a country are forced to give free shelter to any odd person who can get here.
These are the people who will vote out.
I don't believe the spin that says we will be worse off than we where after WW1 or 2. Or the Rubbish about business leaving these shores, so what, who needs fat cat bankers or Amazon, etc. Others will come.

If people are noticing that the welfare state is shrinking then it's because that's what they voted for.  Nothing to do with the EU or anything.

I'd say both campaigns are just as fear based.  The amount of xenophobic claptrap that has surrounded the leave campaign is staggering.

I agree Steve, the trouble is with politicians on both sides, is they will happily twist the truth to suit their agenda. Then the people will choose to believe the lies that suit them.

Then after the fact both sides get spanked with what neither of them wanted.

I think you missed the point entirely....We have an older generation, Having to sell their homes to pay for (Private) care in old age....Meantime, we are quite happy to house, and pay for (some, not all) migrants at huge cost, and even some criminals who should in fact be Deported, not kept in luxury courtesy of the Taxpayer. The other point is, some migrants work cash in hand, claim Working Tax Credits etc...and send money out the country back home....It all rather depends where you look....That older generation didn't get jack all if they fell on hard times....Then Labour came along and dreamt up every type of Benefit they could think of, including the obscene "Working Tax Credits", where the Taxpayer subsidises peoples wages, the big Corporations love that one....the idiots.
   The same big Corporations Labour love to hate I might add....

I was in the balance about 'Brexit' and listened carefully to the pros and cons but, after the government sent me a letter telling me that we should stay in, I'm now out.
I paid for that letter. How dare they spend MY tax money on telling me what I should do!

European Parliament is just the same as our Government, full of fat-cat dictators who always think of their own pockets and how they want the country to be, not the good of the poor citizens that pay their wages. We did fine when we weren't part of the EU, albeit we did struggle after fighting 2 world wars but we pulled together and bounced back.... we're British, it's what British people do best!

Rant over.... I'll crawl back in my cupboard now and unsubscribe to this thread. I bet the OP didn't expect this to happen :)

The irony is regarding Hitler is industrialists and banks funded the nazi party. The same banks and large corps lobby the EU. More harmonisation and political union in the future is no good for anyone. No one voted for a political union setting some of our laws and reducing the RF power of my Taranis.

I think this is probably the most accurate post in the thread. There's not a damn thing we can do about it - too late. So I blame the people who voted in the 70s - thanks for  :censored:  things up for my kids :)
