I dunno - I kinda like the Skywalker because it can slow right down and you can have a good look around whereas the MT is all "go go go"

Glad it's revived your love for fpv Mark :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Strip the gear and sell. If you include it with and airframe you'll have the hassle of trying to post a large box or limit yourself to collection only

The end of an era. 😟.

What is a good or reasonable weight for an MT? Looks like mine is coming in at around 1800g with battery and all the trimmings.

Sounds about right mate

Hi guys, I'm planning to build one of these using parts from my old skywalker which encountered a barbed wire fence. I had Pixhawk in the skywalker but it seemed overcomplicated with features and I spent more time faffing around setting things up than actually flying the thing. Could anyone recommend a cheap and fairly straight forward autopilot with return to home?

I might have a go with iNav since that's cheap although it looks like a steep learning curve..

Very long piece of string.

Had a vector in my 1st talon. Loved it but wanted an easy tracking option. So jumped to MFD AP and the AAT. Missed the vector ever since.

I had MFD ap but just thought it was too much money for what you got .... especially if you have no intention of using the MFD tracker. But it was easy to configure. But almost zero support and not many people have them.

Storm seems to be an arse with vtail. I bought a servo reverser for one of the tailerons but ended up with vector so no idea if it would have worked or caused jitters. But it's cheap at £50 2nd hand and by all reports a solid performer (RTH take off, RTH, stability). Easy to configure. I still intend to fly one than have it on the bench. I really like it's easy menu. Loads of support.

I'm back on the vector purley from a no arseing about standpoint. It accepts rssi from ezuhf, does vtail (so did mfd as I believe so does the tornado). It sorts most of your voltage distribution for you which means less shite in the fuse. Load of support and a great user manual.

That's my superficial opinion. If I could do it all again I'd stick with vector with storm/tornado being a very very close 2nd (very!). 2nd hand vectors go for about 120.

Just to add to Snooze.. the Tornado is the daddy of the Storm and does Vtail mixing out of the box. It also does aileron + rudder mixing if you need it (as I discovered the other week while speaking to English Turbines about his setup), plus waypoints, loiter mode, airspeed sensor etc.

Hi Guys
Just started to put mine together painted the fuse and wings. going the hi vis approach.
Have all the parts ( as far as i know). Am i right in saying i will need to use a reverser to use the v tail with a cyclops storm? I have one and have in the past re-soldered servos to get the reverse action.
Im still pretty much a newbie with fpv and with a Taranis but looking forward to getting the mini talon up in the air.
