Just now for the second time, trying to change the OSD layout via the Vector PC software has wiped all my settings!  When I press 'Apply' it says 'cannot upload to Vector' and that's it all my settings vanish, as in back to 'no airframe selected' WTF is going on?  I've just updated to v.1.81 and will see if that helps.......

Never had this problem with my 3 Vectors...I always keep back up of all my configs..easy to do after the event!

Yes, I have saved it now lol. I reflashed the latest FW 1.81 and have configured it, including the OSD which was the part causing it to lose everything before, so hopefully it's OK now, maybe a bad flash last time round?

Couple more Vector things to ask  :D

1. I tried launching in '2d no hold' my mini sky hunter went off OK for around 3 seconds, flying straight and generally feeling like a good launch, then suddenly it rolled right and nosed into the floor. I can't make out why it would do this?? (yes i will take off in 'stab off' from now on lol)

2. While flying in '2d hold' and making a gentle  right hand turn, the vector will give a sudden twitch to the right, it did this a couple of times? It was a completely still evening too.

Mine will do the twitch too, it's almost like it decides "oh you do want to turn right"

Mine had a twitch but only when flying in 2D Hold mode. I too would describe it like some kind of delay whilst it thinks about what you've just asked it to do lol... perhaps it thinks your stick movement is accidental and then realises... Oh crap...you actually do want me to turn right?

I can live with it, but still spoils the video for a split second lol.

I'm not a fan of 2D Hold mode, it's more concerned with keeping the plane pointing in the same direction according to it's GPS data.... in anything put a perfectly still day that will cause the aircraft to crab or fly sideways or fly with a constant tilt in the roll axis.

2D mode just keeps the wings and nose level and lets the wind do what it does to aircraft flying in it.

jt

True, I'm still getting my head around the 2d modes anyway, I keep letting it level when I'm turning making the video floppy lol   Still it is amazingly stable and it was cool when my attitudes steamed up in the humidity and I held them in one hand demisting, while flying the plane about with my right thumb effortlessly ;D

The other issue was I don't seem to get the maximum power on full throttle although that may not be the Vector.

BlueFlyer

have you calibrated your ESC?

turn on your tx, put throttle to max. Then plug in the plane and wait for a beep... immediately put the throttle back down to zero and that's your ESC calibrated.

jt

I can't remember if I did or not, sure I must have.......

dp106

The Vector doesn't limit your throttle so as Blue says make sure you've calibrated the esc's.
