So here is the Yeti Wings Yeti... about 12 Hours build time & a good quality set of bits in the box.
46 inch, 770g AUW, 433 Dragons to steer it around the sky, 1280 RMRC thingys to show me where it's going.
Cheap Overlander SKU 2976  -  T2836/08  motor and APC 9X6 prop gives 130 Watts on 3S and 210 W on 4S.
130 W is just about 1:1 thrust, 210 W seems plenty..
It will fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee and float like an angel and climb like a rocket...
Maiden tomorrow I hope & vid to come - unless I go to the Cambridge Rock Festival to see Whitesnake & Deep Purple...

I see you have a Vee antenna on your VTX....Can you adjust the vee angle on that thing then..?...

I just tested a Flytron Vee yesterday....seems to work...but then so did the RD as well...lol.

Cheers! - no it's not adjustable - all glued up to a stiff bit of plastic with a ferrite bead around the coax - I am naively hoping these things will just work.

Ah interesting build. But can you explain the 12 hour build time?! That seems awfully long for a fairly straightforward wing and simple fpv setup.

I was about to comment how underpowered a 46" wing is with 200W- until I saw the build weight! Wow! That's going to be super floaty and fun. Will get tossed around in the wind though. I much prefer heavy wings myself. But I bet that little 2200 3s will still last ages and its glide slope will be lovely :)

LOL cheers Billy - well 12 hours is cos I fanny about like a big girls blouse TBH it takes me twice as long to decide what to put where, and how to fit it than it takes to actually do it...mind you - the lateral balance is perfect & the COG is spot on so it's worth a little bit of fiddling before cutting  ;D
I love flying in wind! I like the feeling of flying 'in' the moving air, not just 'through' it - I think I'm gonna love this but I want RSSI and mAH - and spookily I have a spare Vector just begging for a home...

It's pretty nippy on full chat, and floats around nicely on 1/4 throttle, and glides like a good'un, so well chuffed.
Couple of interesting points...
The recommended control throws of 20mm make it a very lively plane - I reckon 10 to 15 is plenty unless you want to do aerobatics.
I might change the camera to one with a slightly longer lens - I don't like that much curvy horizon...
There is something horribly wrong with the 1280 video link, as I was getting noise and grainyness at 1.3km, which cannot be right  :(

it could just be local interference- try other frequencies.

I'm in the process of building a 42" wing myself atm so it will be interesting to compare. mine will be far more amateur than yours though!

Cheers dude and yep, I'll try other channels, and swap out bits until I find out what's going on - until then, nothing could be more amateurish - Jees I can get 1.3k on 5.8 using wet string as an antenna.... >:(

sometimes you can see interference in the goggles without the video tx on. helps confirm interference so you can change channels. if you have a very directional antenna you can use it to work out where the interference is and fly in a different direction.

wing is actually a Ritewing Zephyr 60 (which is a bit EPP version of the original zephyr) but I have trimmed it down. will do a build thread when I have a few more bits working.
