Gorilla glue is messier and unless you get the white stuff, doesn't really look very nice. It also cures quite brittle.
Yeah, I glued my mini talon together with gorilla glue and really wish I hadn't now :(

Well since I got my Skyhunter this Christmas  ;) progress has been good, I must admit its a bigger beasty than I thought but will still fit full rigged in the dubvan hanger.
Wings got laminated with 43 to keep it nice and light and sprayed and servo's and linkages made and fitted, I did opt to cut out the ailerons because even after "working" the hinges I felt there was too much resistance for my liking and would degrade the auto on the FC.

The battery bay is massive and will easily take the 11Amps I plan to use.

Although big it still feels light without the FPV gear and pan & tilt, hoping it will come in below the 3 Kg weight target I've set. This is still about the same as the Ritewing Z3 but with twice the battery.
A few pic's to compare to some other airframes so you can get a feel for the size.

When the skyhunter first came out, the recommended minimum flying weight was actually 3kg... so don't worry if you go over that :)

Cheers Blue, must have missed that, did read some where that they fly well when loaded with battery but no figures were talked of.  :D :gotit:

Looking good Mutley, quite the fleet you have there  :D Like you say, the battery bay is huge, you could fit triple your intended amount of amp in there  :P

Off topic sorry... but was out flying the Drak yesterday and they really are solid! pretty fast too!

I do like my airframes and try to pick the right aircraft for the flying conditions and site, the Skyhunter is really a tech test bed for a rework of my ground station/tracker. Trying to best my record for distance and duration and have a shed load of fun along the way. Thought the Drak was going to fit that bill but after the Mini talon I get the need for Pan & Tilt and you could fit it to a Drak but you would ruin the flight characteristics. The Drak is just a beastie, on a calm day take it up high and drop the hammer and scream it well into three figures, the Z3 does this really well but the Drak has more duration and doesn't mind windy conditions, in fact it helps with the launch.
Will be interesting to see how much load the Skyhunter can cope with and retain its manners, build is coming on at a pace but its going to have a Vector and I'm new to this so I will have to spend a little reading time before I'm up to speed with it, lucky I've got Antkol to pick his thoughts.

Had a go at the pan & tilt yesterday and it looks like a improvement over my MT system, it's 190degs +- and has the Runcam2 fitted as well, down side is its kinda quick so I have to slow the servo down for smoothness on the Horus (works well on the MTalon).
She has still a way to go but I did get all the FPV gear etc and had a weigh in and she's 2803grams with the 11Amp battery pack, got a bit of wiggle room now for toys and airframe longevity.
The pan and tilt

Made sure it will go in the dubvan full rigged, won't be breaking the Skyhunter down as I really like them left rigged after trimming

Very smart. I like the pan and tilt :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

All assembled and comes with servos, but had to disassemble to fit the way I wanted  ;D ;D

Looks very nice. I think I'll hang on to mine just in case the MT decides to go AWOL.

Looking great. Did you buy the black canopy cover thing or just make it our of ply?

Hey Adam, its just black enamel sprayed lite-ply with plastic m6 screws into captive self-tapping nutserts. Nice and light and allows me disassemble for maintenance, first time I've mounted the HD cam and the flight cam together.
