Morning
Can anyone please tell me the exact name of that glass fibre tape stuff that people put on the bottom of planes? I'm trying to find it on CPC with various search words but having no joy.

Cheers

You'll find it as fibre glass tape, but if you go on ebay and look for cricket bat repair tape, that will get you lots of results

BigT

Also good is Gorilla Clear Repair Tape, Wickes or B&Q

Searching for cross weave tape brings a lot of results.  It's has very good tensile strength and can add a lot of rigidity to foam structures but most of these tapes that I've ever used are also sensitive to UV light so you really need to cover it with something e.g. coloured parcel tape or covering film.  If you don't you'll go to use your plane one day and find it all falling off leaving an unpleasant sort of dusty and sticky residue all over it.

I used it for the first time last week on my Skywalker...I also like to use electricians PVC Tape, that also works good as it stretches round curves.

It seems to work really well because its so sticky and very strong.....Mine came from work...Parcel Tape....:)

How do vinyl stickers cope? The vinyl printer at work might "need a few test prints" running through it ;)
