FPV in the garden

As the nights are drawing in and chances of flying are diminished during the evenings and mornings, I've found that flying my FPV ready QX90 mutirotor fills a little hole. Its not the calm enjoyable flying that warrants amazing video of the sunset, but more the flying by the seat of your pants type of video where tiny twigs and leaves can bring you crashing to the ground. I guess its more akin to flying 250s at your local park; zipping in and out of tight spaces.

I'm lucky enough to have a garden that wraps around our house, with plenty of mature shrubs and trees. This all makes for a wonderful playground where I can lean the quad over and power through a gazebo, or under the hanging branches of a fucsia. Open windows on both sides of the house and I've made a great racecourse. It also seems to work really well when flying from my shed with the heater on!

I say, bring on the winter! Bring on the cold! Sod EASA and their OTT regulations! I'll carry on flying, crashing, flipping and rolling, just at a lower scale than normal, but still having loads of fun!

Hey..   My wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer...   So long flying excursions are a bit of a no go.   To much nursing to do while we go through the joys of chemo etc..

I am fortunate to have  this park backing onto my garden.   It allows me to do much like your garden does.   A quick session only 2 mins from the house :)

It's not huge.   But with a sub 180 it is just fantastic!    Even better..   nobody but me uses it!
