Fed up of using screen grabs from 1080p footage for stitching together, I got a 2nd hand canon camera for £35 and that's now all installed in the Talon with CHDK, and a script to take pictures at intervals I can determine.

With this kind of flying I'd really like to be able to set a bunch of waypoints over a set area in a zig zag pattern. I know there's a way of doing this in APM, but I havent been anywhere near APM since the days of APM2.0

I've spotted this on BG which appears at first sight to be very good value, including a power module and GPS (all I'd need is a minimOSD board?)

Can anyone currently using APM or that sort of thing verify if this is a decent package?

Can't help you with APM but I bet these covered in baby oil are very realistic!  :o

I have exactly the same box with a Pix Mini inside in place of APM. I get it from unmannedtechshop.co.uk
I guess it is the model just cheaper. I did not have any issue with it, I like the small size. But I get it with more devices around (telemetry, safety led, arming button...).
For your stitching project, APM/Arduplane is a good choice. Just take a look of the automated mapping mission in Mission Planner software. Amazingly easy.
