Pitot Tube hosing - what do you use?

Those of you with a Cyclops Tornado, what kind of tubing are you using for the airspeed sensor to fashion a pitot tube?

Right now I have some random silicon hose I found on ebay but it doesn't particularly fit correctly and I have to hotglue it into place onto the top of the flight controller. It's also not particularly easy to fit in as it's quite rigid so the bend on the top of the flight controller isn't tight enough to stop it from hitting the canopy.

I'd prefer something nice and snug to go over the nipple (calm down) so I can be sure that it's airtight and not going to pop off in the middle of a flight.

How long a piece do you need?

Interesting, I'll look for some - I need about 20-30cm of it for my Mini Talon.

I did look in B+Q today but they didn't have anything suitable (or even related to what I need, lol).

There's a Pets at Home near me but is either of those the correct internal diameter? Guess for the sake of a few quid I should buy some and give it a shot.

Is this the sort you need ?

About 1.5mm ID an about 2.5mm OD, very flexible.

This is the tubing I use on my Vector pitot, let me know exactly how much you're after and I'll cut it and post it down to you, you'll need to PM me your adress.

I just use small diameter silicone tube

Hi PK, just measured up.

Outer diameter is 5mm, with a 3mm internal diameter for the hole so 1mm wall.

Hopefully this is good advice for anyone else who needs it - looks like that aquarium tube is just what I need.

I've just Googled and found a picture of the Cyclpos Tornado with the tube attached, it is a much bigger diameter than the stuff used for the Eagletree air speed pitot.

Yep - thanks for the offer anyway PK. I've managed to bodge what I was already using with some precision hot glue application :D so I'm okay for tomorrows flying, but I'll pop by Pets at Home and pick up some proper stuff when I'm next out.
