I'll be using a 2205 2300kv on 4S with a 5in bullnose

4s?!

Wow thats going to be pretty hardcore!!

I'm guessing you will be using quite small batteries then? perhaps 1800 or 2200 4s?

Prob with 4s is all the messing about scaling down the voltage for fpv kit- so nice to be able to run directly off the lipo with just a LCI filter. Hence why I was aiming for 3s......

Given both of you have suggested the same motor I will def look into it. What sort of thrust can it kick out on 3s I wonder?? Most people seem to run 4s. But a 6x4 on 3s would be nice.

I want a reasonable flight time out of it if I can- nothing crazy but 15 mins or so. I

All the Fpv gear nowadays have a high voltage allowance and the gear I'm using is no exception, vtx up to 17v and cam 22v
Win win tbh

Yes,I`m just using a FS filter to power my stuff off either 3 or 4s.
Will use 3s 2200 with a 6" or 4s 1800 with a 5" prop.

Will there be a notable difference in the RS2205 and RS2205(S) with a 6x4 on 3S?

And likewise, will there be a notable difference between the RS2205 and other (DYS) 2300kV motors?

I just want unlimited vertical at WOT and decent cruise amps at low throttle. :D

4S is your solution.

Too bad I've already got my entire fleet on 3S

If you havent already, make sure to get the RS2205(S) over the RS2205. They are better overall, stronger magnets and a motor shaft not made from cheese.

Are you guys expecting long flight times with these mini quad motors?

I know they are small and light but some of them need 30A esc and are high kv so I bet they guzzle a fair amount of juice.

On 4s for a buzzing wing it makes sense, but Im not so sure for an all round performance wing??

Jake Bullit

Probably 8--10 mins,we'll have to see.

Hi guys

Given the wing is nearly the same as the tbs cap- I looked at the ths cap motors and the 3s motor is a 1640kv 60g one.

So- do you think either of the below would be a good choice?

Aw crap... dont say that... I've just ordered 4 of the RS2205 motors (well they came with the kit).

Jake Bullit

might be OK if you just wanna cruise around.would need 4s for any speed.
