lots of you will probably remember my Mini Skywalker, its been flying now for more than 5 years and its gone from 2.4 Futaba fasst, with a cyclops OSD, to a all singing all dancing FY 31 AP OSD flight system, with a 35Mhz RC.
it has had lots of flights that I have on YouTube.

https://youtu.be/BF2k57eeVUw

all of the videos have been shot on a 720hd spy cam key chain.
I recently got holed of a 1080p camera with live video out, but i brok the usb fitting on the camera, but at lest it still records, so I have removed the battery and power it from a spear channel, I have fitted a separate Foxeer camera and I have designed a new pod and fitted a new 2.4 TX.

I'm looking forward to some nice weather now.

Looks good, they are great little birds! Mine was great fun until I got it stuck in a tree and couldn't get it back for over a week!

Excellent - also these are currently available in the HobbyKing UK warehouse if anyone wants one :)

£22! https://hobbyking.com/en_us/mini-skywalker-840mm-arf.html

thanks guys
That's a real low price, for such a fun little FPV platform.
I still have one in a box, that I got years ago, just in case I damaged my one, but its been that reliable, I haven't needed it
I have a fully loaded big FPV Skywalker, a fully loaded FPV ZII and a couple of FPV quads, but most of my flying FPV  is with the mini SW.
I have taken it out in the highest winds that you would want to fly in and its small, so you can pretty much fly anywhere without drawing to much attention to yourself.
I defiantly recommend them.

what is the max prop size you can get into one of those? 20£ sounds interesting!

CurryKitten

My mini-sw is one of those planes that appears to want to fight me every time I try it.  I literally threw it straight into the ground on my first maiden, stuffed it into the ground flying LOS for 2 mins, and then lost video on the 2nd try at an FPV flight.  It's sat on the wall looking sorry for itself.

I must have another try though - and will have some fun designing some new attachments for it :)

Thats not so good Wayne, don't give up on it bud, its a great little plan.
my CG is literally just in front of the servo wire slot and behind the carbon spare slot under the wing.

Thanks!

just thinking that a nice neat build would be a Black Widow 1900kv with built-in esc (got one not being used at the moment), a miniquad 5x4.5 prop, one of those all-in F3 boards with FC/OSD/PDB running iNav (which I don't have), a Runcam2 or MiniMobius for FPV cam and HD Recording and a 3S Li-Ion batt (which I have 2).

hmmm....

I was telling G about your mini escapades at Mad Dogs. Was so funny watching it literally fight you the entire time.

I have one to build here still, what servos did everyone go for ?
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

beesleyboy

I have a D05010MG Digital Metal Gear Micro Servo 0.61kg / 0.07sec / 5.7g for the elevator and the ruder and waypoint W-060BB at 6.6 g in the wings for the ailerons.

I used 9g metal gear servos on mine, they don't sit totally flush in the wing but it was what I had at the time. I also relocated the elevator servo into the tail to free up some room in the fuse and help balance.

I was running on 4S with a 2300kv motor and 5x4 prop, was pretty quick! Could squeeze an 1800mah 4S in with the the XT60 coming out of the side of the fuse, wasn't pretty but it did the job!

I laminated the wings and horizontal stab for strength as well. It flew really nicely, it was a bit nose heavy with a runcam 2 on there but I think it flew better like that to be honest. When I finally got it back it had fallen out of the tree in high winds and landed in a stream so it was totally shot. Kind of convincing myself to buy another though...
