Afternoon all.  I'm getting a couple of Mini-Draks sent over from Ritewing, does anyone want one putting in the box?  Apparently 10 kits can be fitted in, I'm ordering 4 at the moment, so I've got room for a few more kits if anyone wants one?

Sooooooo tempted

What will they come in at? Lam and airframe only.

Andy Sayle

I'm not sure yet, just waiting on the final costs from Chris @ Ritewing.  Just thought I would gauge interest, as it seems silly to send a half empty box across the pond, especially if people want to order stuff, but don't want to pay the $80 ish shipping on a single kit....

I do want one of these as a travel plane... but not now, in the middle of building the big version (?)

I was tempted until I Googled the price. But it's good of you to offer up ordering and saving song etc.

Ha ha, I admire your restraint!

Right, the plan is to get a full box sent over from the USofA.  We think there is room for 10 kits in a box.  I shall order some pushrod sets too.  I wasn't planning on getting any laminating film sent over, save the shipping costs, and get that locally here.  Same with the nosecones, I wasn;'t going to order any of those either.

So, I'll place the order as soon as I have confirmation of the final cost.  I'll provide the kit cost here, and then I'll split the shipping (and the Import duty should there be any) equally, and then confirm the final cost when I can (Basically, when I find out how much import duty there will be).  Anyone who wants one of the 6 "spare" kits, will get one on a first come, first served basis.  Any left over, well, eBay I guess!

Cheers

Hi folks,

Based on today's exchange rate, each kit is looking at costing around £145.  That's for the airframe and CF control rods/horn package.  VAT on top of that would take it to shade under £175.

Not cheap, but it's not putting me off :)  As I said, I won't take any money off anyone, until I have the kits in this country.  Let me know if you are interested on here, and I'll keep you updated.

The kits will come with all the moulded foam, CF spars, Coroplast fins/winglets/covers, Balsa control surfaces, Glass strip spars, 2 piece CNC motor mount, and the CF control rod and horn package.

They won't come with motor/esc or servos.

Cheers

It's expensive but you're going to get a kick-ass airframe at the end of it. I've not seen a single person online saying anything bad about the Drak...

Andy Sayle

Yep, I'd agree with that.  I'm also more than happy to support someone developing original, rather good, designs....
