glad to see they are getting to their destinations safely!  Packing them up was a right pain, I couldn't find any boxes that fit, that weren't gigantic, so ended up having to make my own!  I did consider cutting the spars in half to save space ;)

Anyone going to do a build thread?

Looks like I'm the odd one out grrr.

Hermes tracking has had it showing as 'Due to be delivered today' since 09:09 this morning but nothing here yet and we close up the office at 4pm on Fridays >:(

Looks like it will be Monday before I get my hands on it unless it arrives in the next 20 mins.

Put some plastidip on ,wish I hadn`t bothered.A full can just to do the leading trailing edges top and bottom and it still needs more.
Guess I should have undercoated first :(

Interesting, I was going to do the leading edges instead of laminating, what size of can did you use? Is it just not thick enough?

I'm still humming and hawing over motor choice, quite like the look of this -

Leopard are nice motors and should cope ok on 4S with a 7 or 8" prop. Not sure though. Just can't find the Cobra's anywhere locally and don't want stung on customs getting it from the US.

Ok, just ordered a bunch of stuff for this from HK. Wanted to go elsewhere but just can't find anywhere that had a motor that seemed up to the job.

I've went with a new NTM 1400kV, and will pair it with a 9x5 prop. I also got a wattmeter so I can test it out on the bench and find the best combo.

Got a 65A ESC, and some beefy metal gear servos, and will run with the usual separate 5A BEC.

Just need my OMNIBUS Betaflight F3 AIO boards to arrive so I can stick iNav on it for an AP. It has built in OSD as well which should be nice and neat!

Mine's arrived today after missing it on Friday.

Thanks Andy  :)

The packing you've done with this is a work of art Andy, it's not often I enjoy the 'unpacking' bit but this was an engineering exercise !

Karma for doing all the sorting out

You got a power plant in mind Paul?

I can't decide between 3S and 4S

I've already got two motors in front of me, Cobra C2814 1700kv if I go 4S
or Axi 2814/6D 2850kv on 3S

I'm going to have to decide now the kit is here.... any thoughts ?

I'm liking the 3S option at the moment

If you go 3s you'll only wish you'd gone 4s!

pk-surfing

Data sheet shows 530 to 550 watt on 3S for either motor
and 700 watt on 4S for the Cobra

It's only a small plane, might try it on 3S and see what flight times then swap to 4S and see the difference.

If I put the Cobra in it would only mean a prop swap, but then the Axi motor is a nice motor.... hmmm

I'm fully expecting to change mine I think, most seem to be going with high Kv motors but I wanted a bit more efficiency.

As Andy pointed out to me, it's an exposed motor mount so super easy to switch out if you fancy a change!
