No black edge on MFD ap OSD???

Im going crazy here. I have applied the 1.18c firmware, not the WP firmware.But no matter how many times I disable or enable the black edge of the osd ... I get no black edge?!?!

Am I missing something please?

Try the other version of the firmware, just in case

Well this issue continues to baffle me.

I've no black embossing around the osd figures.

I've flashed back to 1.17 no joy. Enabled, saved, cycle power, no joy. I've disabled, saved, cycled power, enabled, saved, cycled power .... still no joy
I've done an mfd ap reset, reapplied 1.18(C).enabled osd, saved, cycled ... you get the picture by now. Still no black around the osd.

any ideas peeps please?

Well it seems a mystery. Despite having the correct firmware to enable the black edge osd it will not enable. Not even Google searches show any results for the problem I'm having. Baffled!

I would love to help, but I am confused as well, black outline works on mine, but can not check the version ( I'm at work .)

I found though if its any comfort that even though I was 100% convinced I prefer it with, strangely it always seemed easier to read and neater looking without :)

Yeh no bother. I've had fw 1.17 on, back to 1.8 and finally did a full reset followed by 1.7 then 1.8(not 1.18wp).

I suppose it is what it is. But thank you.

Yeah I find it easier to read without the black outline, but I've not flown with it like that. Is the text still readable once out and about flying?

I've not had much in the way of proper flying it yet. Bit it's hard to read in the garage if the camera is pointing at a light.

Just go try it, it may help if you dont have a load of sky in your view when in level flight...That means aiming your camera down a bit....Are you on 1.2g yet..?...:)

Yeh I'm on 1.2. i generally like my camera "fairly" level but am willing to try some extra down angle. It's just doing my swede in that it won't enable the black. Very strange.

This has been doing my head in for a few weeks now. Despite being on firmware 1.18c which enables the black edging on the osd text it is still white. I've rolled back to older firmware and still no black edge. I've emailed MFD support and they advised that i enable black edge in the menu (der yeah!) And if that dosent work so a full reset which I've done. Still no black edge.

It's driving me bananas. Any ideas please?
